Most of the schools I’ve applied to have no interviews posted from anyone on here yet. (Or very few so far....)

But how representative is that, do you know? (Posting here)

It does seem that a lot of other schools have sent invites (going by those who have posted about their many interview invites on this thread).

Hi!! Congrats on your achievements thus far!! If you have no prior service and will be obtaining the traditional HPSP, you will not really have much of a Navy experience until either officer development school or graduation from dental school, whichever comes first. With my scholarship, the Health Science Collegiate Program (HSCP), I have to take a personal fitness test twice per year (unless your score high enough and are exempt from one of them), and I have to meet with the recruiters every once in a while and speak with them frequently on the phone. I have prior military service (Army National Guard with a deployment to Afghanistan) so this is not new to me. I am excited about the Navy though compared to Army. I received an email from the University of Buffalo saying that my application has been placed in "Continuing Review", which means I'm not invited for an interview "at this time", but that the status of my application "may change" and I might get an interview in the future.

Did anyone else get an email similar to this from any school, and actually have their status change? Or is it too early to tell?

Looking back on past years, some people were offered interviews even one to two weeks after receiving that message. I also like to be realistic about these things, but don't you think it's best not to needlessly discourage people? Being rejected after getting that message is obviously more common than being accepted if we assume that everyone who is rejected gets it at some point, but it certainly doesn't count you out.

I mean base on my past experience and the fact 3 of my own friends we all got rejected and we are all from New York that pretty much is my experience ... I'm sharing my experience and not discouraging anyone... If someone got accepted good for them .. either way to early for anyone to know but reality is that's pretty much soft rejection. Again case by Case it can be different

They emailed me about being on an interview waitlist so it's really strange that they didn't send you an email regarding an interview?

It makes me question whether other schools could have done that and you wouldn't know without checking the portal.

I was seriously confused when I saw it. I kept asking myself if this really was an interview and came searching on SDN to help me figure it out. It was not the way I imagined receiving my first invite, and definitely not how I imagined I would react either! haha, regardless, I'm grateful that I luckily found it and sharing the news has brought back all the excitement. It makes me curious however, how long would it have stayed up before it got retracted and given to someone else? This is going to make me start checking all the websites often where I have a login setup.
