It's that time of the year. Anyone took new Comsae recently? Hopefully it's more predicitve than old ones that were all over the place - like +/- 100 points.
Also, interesting to hear if this years comlex is indeed changed? If anyone took it recently - please share your experience. Especially if you can compare it to previous year one.

Couple days left until we see real scores released and hopefully we'll see folks posting their comsae/nbme/step/comlex scores and we can at least correlate and access and go from there. Sometimes people tend to exaggerate difficulty of tests, that's normal reaction to unknown, people are a bit scared, stressed etc. I'm just hoping we'll see some facts soon to at least alleviate some portion of fears.

Yeah I mean I'm sure there were plenty of questions where its like "oh yeah I know this for sure" pick the right answer and never think about it. Tend to dwell on all that tricky convoluted stuff

Also there were only like 3 math questions and only 1 where you actually had to use the calculator iirc
Wayyyy more ethics and legal than stats

The more I read about comlex between here & Reddit the less motivated I feel to study. Like what's the point. Lol.

Honestly if you take it in the next few days I'm not sure there is a point. Memorize the VS chart of your choice, know the chapman's points (although I think this is very low yield as I only had one question where you absolutely had to know it to get it right, but they are gimme points so.) and passively watch the OME videos. Maybe read the public health chapter in FA for the insurance stuff.

5 tenets* come on man youd get docked points in the post lecture pimp session in the basement only knowing 4 tenets

I am heading to a BBQ at one of our downstairs instructors house in a second and will be awaiting my punishment. I fear I might be walking out with some TTA :/

Was omm more Diagnosis and concept heavy or treatment technique heavy? To those who have taken it. Thank you!!
My form had a lot more OMM than others here it seems! Was 50/50 treatment and diagnosis. There were no surprises that weren’t covered in the Saverese green book so if you’ve covered that you’ll be good.

most of the legal stuff on the comlex is not in first aid and is mostly impossible to prepare for. You DID NOT learn any of it in m1 or m2.

public health section is still very high yield (types of studies, types of error, bias, etc)

Get used to that loading image, you'll see it after every question.

VS, Stats equations, Chapman's, public health stuff in FA about medicare, insurance, etc.
no way to prepare for this beast
I'd just review the stats equations, viscerosomatics and chapmans, and maybe read the first aid rapid review section

Thanks. Did stats today. Doing public health for a few hours in the morning and just lubing up the rest of the day. Appreciate you all

Guys just a bit off topic question for those who took comlex already.
Was actual question stem text formatting basically from one edge of screen to another edge (like longer arrow width on pic posted) or was it more formatted like UW - meaning width was like that shorter line - like in picture attached. For some reason if it's just stretched from edge to edge - I'm guessing it could be a pain to read during 8 hours on a large screen (moving head from side to side lol). Or maybe it's just a preference.

P.S. Sorry for marking up UW pic - just don't want to get into trouble with copyright thing.

Does anyone know how heavy biochem was on the COMLEX for those who already took it? Like the cell/molec/pathway stuff? I know the path stuff is big.

Powerhouse of the cell:kiss:

If I remember correctly, the COMLEX interface is quite compact.

I think ~5/400 questions on my form were biochem. Take that with a grain of salt as forms can obviously differ!

I think we must be two bodies one sphenoid ! The CRI is strong within us
(except that you probably got 10-20 points more on step :blackeye: )
I am merely the sacrum to your sphenoid, you flex i counternutate. You score 250 on usmle i score 520 on comlex
Both of you, please never stop

We met in semester two. It started as a palpation of ischial tuberosities, leading to suboccipital releases. The rest is osteopathic history that led us to today. Can there be anything more pure than an OMM-table-bromance?
Shared interests include:
Long walks across train tracks
Early 1900 history included but not exclusive to the founding of osteopathic medicine and william sutherland biographies
Having similar CRI rates
Knowing the elusive 5th osteopathic tenet

Reporting back:

I don't remember anything 'cause I'm so burnt out from that loooooooooooooooooooong exam. There were a handful of wtf questions, compared to nearly none on my usmle. I was racing the clock the entire time, vs. usmle where I took my sweet time answering questions & had time to go back & casually review marked questions. There were a few crazy micro questions (weird bugs not in sketchy.) The omm was easy/straightforward... Idk I barely remember things my brain is completely fried from racing the clock for 9 hours straight. Lots of softball questions too but the length & limited time for answering questions was killer!

USMLE was more straighforward overall. Way more time to answer questions. Way less stressful in my experience.

Below what score on the COMSAEs or percentage on the COMBANK assessment would you guys say not to take the COMLEX?
2 more weeks until we can tell, but for now you need at least 2 predictors: comsae and NBME. Between the two you can at least have an idea. If you score like 430 on comsae and 200 on nbme - well at least you can try to pass, but if it's lower than 400 on comsae and <200 on NBME - probably better to postpone. Just my opinion and I was wrong before many times lol.

i would rather get herpes than take that exam again... I feel like i failed... wow.

Just got out. Same dude. Wtf. You read these threads and can't believe it's that bad. I had six questions on a specific phys mintutiae that isn't in first aid. Googled it at my break. Thank God I did got three more questions on it

COMSAE Form E - 1/25/19 - 481
COMSAE Form D - 6/03/19 - 486 - Class Avg 487
COMSAE 105 - 6/04/19 - 402 - Class Avg 420

The COMLEX today was very similar to Form 105.
Thank you for stats - If class average was 420 that's brutal man, but it means you most probably passed. What did you do for last month in terms of studying? UFAPS?

Anyone have a clue what a 513 on COMSAE 105 could mean for the real thing? Took it 12 days out. Sit for the exam this Friday (7/5/18). Other stats: uworld 1st pass 61%, but sitting at 80% half way through second pass.

UWSA1 230 (5 weeks out)
NBME 21 212 (WHAT??) (4 weeks out)
NBME 18 230 (2 weeks out)
COMSAE 105 513 (12 days out)
UWSA2 228 (6 days out)
Free 120 78% (3 days out)

Think I may take COMSAE 104 tomorrow for a little last hoorah. Or should I save my money? Really aiming for 550, but looks more like 530ish is realistic. (which I would be happy with)

If you made a 513 on Form 105 I'd say you should get 550 or higher. The 105 reminded me of the real thing.
