does anyone else have wet dreams about deleting Zanki or permanently suspending it once this is all over
My fiance has already laid claim to that right. She says she will buy a nice wine the day she deletes the other person (zanki) out of our relationship. I haven't had the heart to tell her about Tzanki as yet.

My wife and I are half serious about naming our first dog Zanki as a memorial. And then she'll ask it "hOw MaNy cArDs dO U hAvE lEfT" whenever she wants to be mean.

I've noticed I have a "warm up period" when I start doing questions. I have a disproportionately large no. of mistakes (esp dumb ones) in the first 5 and the last 5 questions (the latter due to wanting to hurry up and end the block). So I've trained myself to start carefully, and not lose focus until I mark the last question. 5 question blocks seems like a pretty bad idea to me, my guess is your score will improve once you get into the habit of 40 question blocks.
Literally the same thing happens to me, I get like 5 wrong from the first 10 questions, then between questions 10-30 I get like 3 wrong and then I finish the last 10 with 5 wrong lol

Was on a real roll in Amboss. I answered 11 questions straight correct.... but then.... Number 12 was that 1 hammer question that 80% of people got right and I chose the answer that only 1% of people chose

Zanki and I have such a love-hate relationship. It’s like an unhappy marriage that you stay in for the sake of the kids (my Step score). Although if I do get a high score it will be the single most important factor in my success. I made a bet with my friends that if by some miracle I get 260+ on the real deal, I’ll get a Zanki tattoo.

Just loaded the HY 100 concepts anatomy deck to my Anki. Moment of silence for me having to again start new cards. RIP.

Where do you get this deck? I really don't want to start new cards either but figure I need to cover my bases in case I get an anatomy-heavy form.

Zanki covers a good amount of it already. Even if you suspend cards you already know fairly conservatively, you could probably suspend 1/3 of the deck. If you suspend cards liberally you could probably suspend half of it or more.

So just did the COMSAE..... did pretty abysmal I think, at least according to the CBT score conversion, and I set it for 2020, I was only in the 28th percentile but I've heard it under predicts by a lot, up to 100 points, and if that was the case I would've been 70th percentile (481-581) does anyone have any information on that?

I was average for all of the subjects, some high average, some low average, except for OMM which was wayyyyy below average (makes sense I havent even begun to study it) and pharm where I was wayyyy above average.

I know 2 things for sure though. I am much more motivated to study neuro and biostats, and I am much more motivated to take a practice NBME

Ive heard the same regarding Comsae, but the COMLEX is a pretty ****ty exam that seems to change a fair amount from year to year with regards to scoring so I wouldn’t put any real stick in the Comsae.

Today is one of those days. Started off a set of Uworld where it was asking about someone struck by lightning. The question itself wasn’t hard but the absurdity of it was annoying. Then I got a question about it ureteral reflux, but the answers were worded so strangely I couldn’t figure out which one was exactly the one I was looking for. ****. I can not wait to be done with this Bs.

bro those are the worst, when you legit know the answer without looking at the choices and they are all worded so weirdly you don't know which one is right

Oh 100% same, I just feel like I need to do some kind of practice test but I still have 3000 zanki cards to do and dont want to "waste one" of the NBMEs or Uworld full lengths

Meh I dont feel like its a true 80% lol. my overall percentage is almost at a 68% with 64% of uworld done. I get 80% on most of my 5 question blocks, but enough 60s and 40s to drop me to 70% overall when the day is done. A little worried that doing them in 5 questions increments is detrimental but doing a full block and then a full review always took wayyyyy to long and made me exhausted. Planning on switching back to 40Q blocks by next week though so theres that.

My biggest hurdle right now is neuro. its about 2/3 of the cards I have left in zanki but Its the subject I despise the most. I also expect a major score drop once I start the Neuro and Heme onc Uworld questions, since those are basically the only ones I have left and they are easily my weakest subjects.
.
I recently swtiched to doing sets of 25 questions and it has made review so much better plus it isn’t super small like 5 so you don’t get discouraged when you miss 2 questions.

This happens too often. “I know what the disease is, I understand the mechanism, I know the treatment, I know the mechanism and side effects of the treatments, and I know the risk factors, but what the hell are these answers saying????”

Just took the beast ... feel like I failed. No one talk to me
I took it a couple days ago and feel exactly the same. It was so much harder than I imagined.

Did you guys feel like it was more like the NBMEs or uworld? Chances are everybody felt that way and your form was one of the harder ones with a generous curve

Seems like the general trend is the NBMEs tend to be more predicative in the 220 range. Looking at reddit post, there's a lot of people that have 220s on NBMEs, get a 240 on Uworld, but then end up closer to the 220s on the real deal. Crazay that you need a 260+ to guarntee yourself a 245+

Ummmm what? Really? Get a 240 on UWSA2 or 1 and end up with a 220 real deal? I will cry if I get a 220 especially with a 75%ile UW average

Realize that if its hard it was most likely a hard form for everyone taking that day. I rarely hear of people walking out thinking they crushed it. Most come out feeling like absolute trash. Everyone I know that came out with a 240s or 250s said they felt they failed

Part of me is starting to think practice test scores are only really predictive if youre scoring like 250+ or like < 220. It seems like if youre in that 220-240 range on practice tests anything can happen

that is terrifying. Didnt anatomy grey just post that if youre below 220 or above 250 its less predictive?

edit: do you mean 220-249 like including the 240s or 220-239

I'm only eyeballing posts. But seems like there's a lot of variation. I just don't trust that predictor. The NBMEs hardly count for anything

Anyone did the anki musculoskeletal deck ?? Debating between doing this or the 100concepts deck and calling it a day.

Does anyone have recommendations on Biostat decks? I know there are tons of good video resources and this topic lends itself best to learn through practice but I love a little anki deck on the side to keep things fresh. Hearing a lot of bad things about zanki biostat and wondering if anyone else had any recommendations.

Just do questions. Youre right Biostats is one of those subject where questions are by FAR the biggest bang for your buck. Flipping through decks i dont think is a good idea for it but thats just me just because I think anki is extremely overrated on reddit and sdn lol. Or just rip Randy Neil on Youtube he goes through everything in question form.

I did the biostats/ethics/etc deck from Zanki but I agree that questions are the best thing. The deck helps with the foundations but it wasn't till I started doing questions that I really got things down. If you want to do a deck, though, that one is solid and not super long.

Is there a recent predictor for UW% and Step 1? I saw an old one that I thought was outdated
These are the 2 most recent, I believe:

When youre reading a micro question and you think you for sure know the answer and its none of the choices
