I haven't seen this date posted yet, but I know I can't be the only one taking it on this day. It's almost exactly two months away, and hopefully everybody's prep is productive so far. I've been doing a lot of practice tests, and, at the advice of others, ordered a quarterly subscription to The Economist to try and help out with Verbal (jury's still out on that one). My target score is going to be tough to reach, and I still have a lot of work to do to get there. We'll see how it goes in about 60 days.

Any other "7/14ers" out there?

Do they send you an email after your score is released? Or do you just have to keep checking MCAT THx? I was wondering because I know for people who take the LSAT they send you an email 5 minutes after they post your score.

hey guy am a new member..just wanna ask, whats the best way to study for MCAT😕

30% content knowledge, 70% practice.

Get the content down cold via prep company material. Then practice as many questions as possible, and LEARN from your mistakes. Then buy the AAMC practice exams. These exams should not teach you content material, rather you should learn how to take the MCAT exam from them (i.e. timing and strategies that work best for you). Good luck!

I really hope you are right. -2 point from my average would still make me happy. 0 or +2 and I will forever be grateful... 2 more week! BTW, thank you for everyone's support by keeping this thread going. We are all in this together and nice to know that I have a place to turn to when I feel crappy about the MCAT.

I know I am glad everyone kept this thread going even though it has made me OCD about sdn now haha these last 10 days are going to be the longest...

They don't send you an email or anything about your score.. you just keep checking MCAT THx like a psycho that day lol:laugh:

So what are the chances AAMC messes up and accidentally pushes the button to release our test scores on Tuesday instead of 7/6??

Going to convince myself it will happen!

Lol @ Jepstein, if that helps you wait sure, but after a cursory search through the forums it looks like anything over a day early (or :gulp: a day late) is rather unheard of. Typically it is released +/- 2 hours from the estimated release time. Although I suppose you are hoping for an accidental early release, so I'm sure you don't care about what usually happens lol.

I have managed to put the test out of my mind for the last 2 weeks, but now that we're at 7days, 19 hours and 39 minutes it is making its way into my day-to-day thoughts. I've started having the dreams, its going to get real bad and more vivid starting sunday I'm sure.

Same here. The past few days the most random events have made me remember questions, that I had completely forgotten about. When it comes time to finally check my scores, I'll be a wreck. If I did poorly I may need someone to drive me to the liquor store .

Alright, I am officially bugging out. I may just have to stare at a clock for the next 7 days because can't really focus on anything else.

At least we can spectate tomorrow's festivities in the 7/6 thread.. then we're up!

I'll be in training camp (football) when my scores get in. Needless to say I won't be able to think about football for a while!

man many people didn't post their scores on 7/6/2012 thread.
I'm guessing a lot of bad news. That doesn't help my nerves. :scared:

Yeah, I noticed that too. From what I could gather, their test seemed similar to ours in terms of section difficulty.

Maybe some didn't do that well, but I'm sure many others just have other obligations/priorities right now. I'll be interested see how many more people post (and how they did in Verbal) in the next day or so.

Wow... I can sympathize with the people (July 6th MCAT) who did not meet their target scores because that happen to me last year. Let's hope we are the ones who are on the other side: that is did much better than we had hope. One more week guys. Pray to the MCAT gods!!

oh dear MCAT god please come to my rescue and give me some good news before I die of chronic anxiety and depression! 🙁:scared:

Man I just read through 7/6 MCAT thread and some people got killed on VR. I saw a 2 and a 3 (OMG)! But I also saw a lot of people hit close to their averages.. I am freakin out now! gezzzzzz

Thinking back, our verbal might be similar to 7/6???
We remember that it definitely was somewhat easier read than the most of our practice and questions were okay to answer, but it could be just that we missed that weird sense of AAMC and chose wrong answers??
My nerves are wrecking as well! 7 more days.

Has anybody else been freaking out crazily the past few days? I had a haunting dream I got a 26 (retaking from 29Q) and I haven't stopped panicking.

I've been having the worse time sleepin at night and keep dreamin of the worse possible scores.. It's terrible

We are officially on the clock, looks like our thread will be pretty popular around here for the next week

My score prediction ->

Pre-test: 37
Immediately post-test: 32
Two days post-test: 36
One week post-test: 38
This past week: 35

I think it may keep dropping too as we get closer haha

We should start a post that will eventually compile everyone's predictions/practice test scores/actual scores (sort of like the amcas verification post that gets quoted by each subsequent person). That way people won't have to search through a billion posts for the ones that they're looking for.

7/6 scores are making me feel bad.

hoping for a 30+, but not incredibly optimistic. preemptively retook last week. figured that no matter how 7/14 turned out, the second would have to be better.. the first time, i felt destroyed for a solid three days before i could put myself back together.

Ok why not.

Their VR score are pretty horrifying especially considering that a lot of them said it was fairly easy. It's reminding me of our VR but hopefully we are not faced with the same results.

Was the second MCAT easier or harder then the one you took with us?

soooooo. much. better. (though the consensus in the small 8/3 thread seems to be that bio was a beast)

i walked out of that one actually feeling relief/happiness. hopefully i won't be eating my words next month. this test has to be 80% prep, 20% luck.

Damn Jep, I hope you score your prediction! Hopefully we both score our goal and can forget about all our messages forever LOL

Just curious, what did you do between this test and last test to feel more confident (especially for the bio)?

Yay final stretch prediction time...

AAMC average was: 36
Prediction walking out of test: 38 (felt like 13, 12, 13)
Prediction after weeks to build up doubt: 35 (maybe 12, 10, 13)
Threshold where if below I'd be shocked: 32 (12, 8, 12)

Verbal is clearly what I'm nervous about surprising me, especially after seeing some 7/6ers get shafted.

Guess I should make a prediction. I'll include my first mcat scores for comparison.

First MCAT (May 2011)
AAMC Avg: 33 (# 4,7,9,10)
Actual score: 29

July 2012 MCAT
AAMC Avg: 34.5 (#9,10)
Prediction walking out of test: 28
Prediction now: 30 (if I'm lucky)
Actual Score: TBD

WOW you felt that good walking out of the test. What a monster. I would have felt good too if it wasnt for that thermo passage.

mann i still feel bummed about that P.S. section. i still feel it was a beast & if there's no curve i predict i got like an 8 on PS. my tbr and aamc ave was 11 -13 for that section. For you guys that are predicting 33+ how did yall feel about the P.S. section? how many did you all feel you guessed on that section?

I'm predicting a 10 or a 9 (worst case) in PS but 33 overall. I felt like crap after completing the PS section and by my estimation I guessed on about 10 and of those i got like 6 wrong no doubt (most of it on that thermo passage). Even though i think BS was more challenging then PS by comparison i felt worst after PS then BS (since i usually do fine in BS even when i have doubts).

so glad I dont have to wait anymore for my scores!! I cant imagine waiting for this score... took the 7/14 mcat and got into medschool a few days later. Anything is possible! Fingers crossed for all of you!

man was anyone able to understand and feel confident answering the questions on that thermo passage? i wonder if it was experimental & if that means it wont count against us or something. I felt like i guessed on that whole passage as well.. good luck to everyone.

It's difficult to be confident on anything pertaining to this exam...Verbal wasn't such a challenging read, but the answer choices were tricky. I became nervous seeing the terrible verbal scores many of my friends received for the July 6 MCAT. Anyway, good luck to you and to everyone else.

Ya I know what you mean I had the exact same averages on PS for AAMC but felt I didn't achieve that on the actual. I had about 5 where I had to guess which never happened to me before. I felt pretty decent (as in 12+) for VR and BS until I saw the 7/6 posts and so now I'm freaking out about my VR score too 🙁
