Reserved for MCAT discussion with July 27th takers.
I'm not a morning person which is why I took it at 1pm the first time. I realized this was a bad idea because 1) it's half way through the day, so your mind is not as fresh (even if tired) and 2) idk about you but I get hungry more often around that time than in the morning.
Hungry me<<<<<<<<<<<Tired me lol
Welp, three days. I just want to break 30 ): What is this madness?! I know I can do it because I've gotten 10+ in each section, but never at the same time. -__-"
Unless you do that every 3 days, that does not sound like a very smart plan. Notsureifsrs 🙁
I took my practice exams and had an upwards trend...until AAMC 11 that is.
Kaplan Diagnostic-20
Kaplan FL 1- 23
AAMC 8- 24
AAMC 9- 26
AAMC 10- 28
AAMC 11 (took today) - 27
I got hung up on some of the PS passages and completed guessed (chose C) for two full passages. Anyone else had that same problem?
Just took the one that was today. Bio seemed very difficult for me, verbal wasn't that bad, and the two essays were fun to write about.
Hoping for a 30, but with some of the guessing I had to do it could go either way 🙁
Really? My friend had his test today (re-take) and said that it was significantly easier than his first. I'm hoping tomorrow's exam would be easy too.
I took it today as well and IMO the PS was pretty fair and tbh if I had managed my time well it was a potential 12-13 easy and this is coming from a person that hates physics. However, the BS was definitely not "easy". There were several brutal discretes and a lot more Ochem than I expected.I'm sure by now every one knows that memorizing Bio stuff aint gonna cut it...a lot more analytical thinking is required....they actually provided a lot the stuff I memorized in the passages ( what a waste of time😡). VR is a crap shoot ...Really? My friend had his test today (re-take) and said that it was significantly easier than his first. I'm hoping tomorrow's exam would be easy too.

The odds are that people who feel like they did really well are more likely to post than those that didn't, so take the majority opinion with a grain of salt.Aghhhhh I feel like total crap after that... Looks like I'm the only one here who found PS really difficult. At the halfway point I still more than half to do, and starting panicking and rushing 🙁 I definitely felt waaaay worse about it than any other AAMC practice tests, and ended up guessing much more than usual. Verbal I actually felt was ok, but it's verbal so my prediction of it is almost always off. So I got to BS and was thinking "ok, usually this doesn't go too badly for me, maybe I can make up for the crappy PS section" WRONG! What was with all the orgo?! The actual bio stuff was ok, but those orgo passages were just killer.
Man I feel like I've just wasted these last 3 months studying and all that $ on prep materials 🙁 Still rather shell-shocked that an exam I prepared for that extensively could go THAT badly.

That said, what materials did you use to prep and how were your AAMC averages?
