If I were you, I would pick Massey! I toured their university and veterinary school when I was on my study abroad trip this past May. It is amazing and hands down one of the best hospitals I have seen. Plus, they have a whole section dedicated to kiwis. And, who doesn't love Kiwis? :D

I interviewed on 12/12 and received the phone call today. During the presentations, they said that they interview ~400 people and only some will hear before Christmas, and the rest will hear after Christmas. They also said they will be accepting ~300-350 people (I don't remember exact numbers, but they were on the slides which should be online somewhere). So I'm sure everyone that interviewed has a great chance of getting accepted! You might just not hear till January! :)

Wait, are you saying Ohio State is accepting 300-350 people this year??????
 
Only because OOSers often don't take the acceptance, so it goes through the waitlist. Their class size will be 162.

I'm OOS. and yeah, the presentation slides said they will accept about 300-350 people but the class size is only 162. Since a lot of of OOS people apply but then choose their home school or other schools to attend. The info about dates and how many people are on these slides.

I don't see anything about accepting 300-350...only about interviewing about that many.
 
Nordicat, from the presentation I heard they don't actually overaccept on the OOSers. What happens is they accept 80-100 IS people and 62-82 OOS people. That is how many get offers right away. Then a TON of OOSers get waitlisted and as OOS people decide to go to other schools (like if they get in IS or choose a different school), they notify OSU and another offer is made to someone on the waitlist. They do this until they have the 162 people that accept the offer. From what you guys have said it sounds like over 100 people are offered OOS acceptances and decline them so 100 people from the waitlist can then be invited. At least that's how I understand it, but they didn't have the numbers on how many IS people and how many OOS people were interviewing when I went in November.
 
Oh, I don't know then. All I know is what I heard at the presentation, and what others have posted they heard during the session and the dinner the night before. I thought it was on the slides, but I honestly didn't re-look at them. Sorry!

CONGRATULATIONS, vethopeful15! :) I'm crossing my fingers that I'll get to join you in the OSUCVM Class of 2016...I interviewed on the 10th too, but I haven't heard a thing yet. *eep*
 
I'm hoping for you Nordicat! You keep getting my hopes up posting here! Hoping for Tuesday, just 4 more days of waiting, at least I sure hope so.
 
Same here w/ Ohio State. :xf: also for Squirrels and Nordicat. Hopefully we'll all get in!!
 
At the interview Dr. Lord said they've offered 30-40 acceptances so far to the very well qualified, but most of the applicants will be further reviewed. So no worries guys, they're still doing the interviews I'm sure we'll hear back very soon.
 
With all these acceptances, don't you think someone should start the C/O 2016 Successful Applicant Stats thread? Hmmmmmm?
