In the continuing spirit of the tradition started last year, we will hold this as your official countdown til score release thread. You can use this as a countdown, but may also post in here general conversation if you are just going insane over this wait. Also, this may not be an exact of when the scores will come out, but we don't know how many days before the official 60 days are over they will come out. Last year, they came out around June 15th at 10pm. But this will give us a rough approximation.

Ok, let the fun begin.........

59 days and counting........

Lets pray for all of you and for my very best roommate, and two of my other bestest friends. 😀 May all come with good news in the following two months.

This is for the neurotic ones who just need somewhere to vent their frustration over the wait. 😛

One more note on Kaplan: I appreciated all the review and advice on the material, but advising drinking Gatorade between tests...not such a great idea. I had to go halfway through one of the exams and, of course, the proctors were -ever...so...slow- in collecting and counting exams :scared: . I thought I was going to pee myself. Thanks Kaplan! Any idea on whether they would reimburse me for a new pair of pants?

I think you are supposed to think about the Green Dot when you have the use the bathroom 😉

hahaha! I think you're right, I must have completely forgotten The Way of the Green Dot. My chi was way off balance...

I didn't take Kaplan but indulged in Gatorade nonethelesss. BAD IDEA. In the middle of an already stressful PS section I had to go BAD. So i wasted precious sections emptying my bladder when I could have been freaking about physics.

It is official that in 24 hours you will have 6 weeks left!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Now out of the April days and into May!!!!!! That's a good sign. Before you know it, there will only be a month left.

Woot 47 days to go 😀 Hopefully scores come out earlier, we theoretically could have less than 40 days to go...

You guys know how TPR said we'd get our scores around June 7th? Well, I asked them how they knew, and TPR said they got that info from AAMC...so I called AAMC and the lady said that info is ACCURATE! Well, being anal retentive, I called again and spoke to another lady and she just said the "60 days" standard reply. What do you guys think? June 7th would be the earliest ever, so I don't know if I believe it.

You know what's killing me? I stressed out and lost my mind about the MCATS...then once they were over, i knew not to get comfortable somehow, beneath it all, and then i went to apply and realized how difficult and stressful that is. Then combine the MCATS (and waiting for the scores) with applying for fall of 2007...its a lethal combination analagous to HIV/TB!!!

If it's indeed June 7th, it means we have about 32 days left!!! Feels much better now!

If it is June 7th, that's good. But I think more realistically it is in between the 47 and 32 mark at 40 days and probably will come the week that ends in June 16th. It usually comes second week of June and has done so for the past 2 April administrations. So that is the more realistic date that I'm predicting.

Does anybody know if they might update the THx system by the end of May to give some kind of more concrete idea of the release date? Or do they only update THx a few days before release?

last august, they only updated it about a week before scores came out. but things are a-changing at the AAMC, so who knows what they'll do this time. maybe it really will be june 7th!

umm hi. i've been reading these forums religiously since a week before the mcat when i was incredibly stressed out and none of my non-mcat friends could relate. so anyway, i thought it was time i actually jump in instead of just creepily auditing everyone else's conversations.

okay, so if any of you are looking at the TMDSAS app, i was wondering how i send in my transcripts. i saw a form on the amcas site but i couldn't find one on the tmdsas site. anyone know what they're doing?
thanks so much

There is a TMDSAS 2007 thread in pre-allo, but the answer to your question is that you just send them to TMDSAS. No form is required.

I imagine this is a very common question: could any veteran test-takers comment on whether practice tests (preferably through Kaplan, which was the program I used) gave you a score close to your official test score? Or did you score much higher or lower than practice tests? My understanding is that they are fairly close to official scores (in the +/- 2 pts. ballpark). This is me being neurotic and it's a chance to feel like I'm doing SOMETHING to predict my score. The wait is driving me mad. Plan B is to relax and enjoy post-MCAT life by catching up on movies, tv, fun, conversation...you know, all the things we may have sacrificed or cut down during MCAT prep fun, as there is nothing we can do now but wait- no amount of worrying will affect our scores at this point. Jesus asked: can any of you by worrying add a single hour to your span of life? (Matthew 6:27) I think it's a good question, applicable to our MCAT situation.

yea, i wouldn't worry about it too much if i were you. it's hard to predict. most of my friends and other SDNers that i talked to after last august's test said ppl who take kaplan usually see a real MCAT score higher than their practice test scores. i got that stuck in my head and thought i'd come out with a good score. unfortunately, in my case, it was 2 points lower than my first kaplan full length. so you never know what'll happen. i mainly attribute that to test anxiety and lack of familiarity with the AAMC format (i only took kaplan FLs). but for most ppl i know, their scores were close to or higher than their kaplan scores.

i hope this post doesn't bum you out, but i just wanted to share my experience.

if you do a search, there was another thread about kaplan test takers' practice vs. actual test scores from last april and last august. maybe that can help. :luck:

Good Story: My best friend jumped 4 points. Highest practice was a 28, then pulled a 32 on the real deal.

Sad Story: I dropped 5 points 🙁 That was mainly due to crazy test anxiety and my stupidity. I hope that turned around this year :luck:

Good luck Jbaybe Im sure you did fine 😍

I'll make a call on Monday morning to see what they say as well also. If June 7th is deal we are coming really close, almost a month. Lets just cross our fingers and hope for the best.

As for ThX, from years past it seems as if they update it about one week before the scores come out. Hopefully sooner this year.

That's what I'm afraid of, I've been doing relatively well on practices (although I felt crappy after each and every one of them), but I felt really bad after the test. I think that the reason for scores discrepancy is their crazy grading system. They throw out a bunch of experimental question and give a different weight to every question. That's why it's so undpredicteble...

This whole process is unpredictable, people with stellar numbers and activities don't get into their own state schools. Lets just hope for the best🙂

Grats everyone, we have come to the two week mark since the end of our exam. We have 31 days left according to TPR and 46 days according to AAMC. So bascially between 31 and 46 days.....🙂

Is TPR just speaking out of their booty?

 Apparently someone called TPR and they said they got the info from AAMC---so maybe TPR has an informative ass? 🙄

Hehe well....my Kaplan teacher has told me false info.....so I was just wondering.

No I don't believe they know what they are talking about either. Better to check it out with the AAMC people. TPR has been known to pull things out of their butt too.

I work for those bastards (TPR) and they didnt tell me jack.

Don't hate me, but............

All this time I thought you were a girl not a guy. Then I checked your profile and saw how I far off I was!!!!!

I'm so bad at guessing who's a guy and who's a girl on this website.

In other news, I just found out that one of my friends just got into medical school and the other just got into his top choice!!!! I'm so excited for them.

...but I did confirm it with AAMC. One lady said June 7th is accurate, and when I called again another person just said "60 days"- so maybe AAMC doesn't really know either. I think I'll still plan on getting the scores in mid-late June though, just so I won't be disappointed if June 7th passes w/o scores.
