***Official April 2006 Score Release Countdown Thread***

In the continuing spirit of the tradition started last year, we will hold this as your official countdown til score release thread. You can use this as a countdown, but may also post in here general conversation if you are just going insane over this wait. Also, this may not be an exact of when the scores will come out, but we don't know how many days before the official 60 days are over they will come out. Last year, they came out around June 15th at 10pm. But this will give us a rough approximation.

I just called AAMC. The woman said scores would be released the middle of this week and then she corrected herself and said the middle of this month, (June 12-15th). Make of it what you will...

So, putting this together with a number of previous posts recently and over the preceding weeks, we have fairly good consensus that it will be the second full week of June (11,12,13 more specifically). Now that we're all in the final countdown, we should think about starting another pool as to the precise hour they will be released lol.

Hey, I think someone asked this earlier, but are you guys waiting for the scores to show up online before you submit your AMCAS, or is it OK to go ahead and submit AMCAS now, and then submit our scores once they come in?

I'm a little paranoid just because i have a poor previous MCAT score, so I was just wondering what the consensus opinion is on this. Thanks.

So I just got home, checked the mail, and saw a letter with "MCAT" in huge letters in the return address!!! Even though I knew I'd have seen the scores on THx already today if they were there, this fact slipped my mind as I started shrieking and dropped all the rest of the mail to tear into the envelope.....

turns out it's just to let me know that they are refunding my registration fee because of some nonstandard conditions we had to deal with at my test site (loud rock concert above test room). That's great... but seriously, my heart will probably not stop pounding all night. What a fakeout!! Anyways just another example of how crazy we are all going waiting for the big day!!

it will probably be updated on the day that they decide to release scores. last august they posted the distribution tables on the morning of score release day (scores weren't released till the evening).

I think scores will be out Monday at midnight, since they put them up then, I can't see them doing anything with them on a Sunday! So less than a week! That's nothing compared to how long we have waited already. I am getting antsy though...

Thank you everyone for all your responses. Its nice not to be alone in this dreadful time of wait! At least I had a nice weekend. I've kept busy for the last month planning my sister's bridal shower, and now very happy its all over, although I had a great time I'm pretty darn exhausted!!!
I can now go back to the wait and that nauseous feeling I get everytime I think of what my score will be.

You know its not even the fact that I would have to study all over again (although a big pain in the a$$) I'm more concerned with what the admit. com. will think about us taking this test so many times. I mean how many times can you take it until they start calling you a dum a$$? I guess I was aiming at taking it once, nailing it and that's it...so much for that uh? This was my 2nd time taking it so what's one more if I have to, right?

I guess I'll just keep on waiting, and finish the PS already!

Lilah, there isn't going to be a notice a week before the scores are released. From what I understand, there's going to be a notice saying something like "scores will be released tonight" on the day of the score release.

I think the THx will update the same day as the scores come out.... it does not have to be a week in advanced... I dont think...
