In the continuing spirit of the tradition started last year, we will hold this as your official countdown til score release thread. You can use this as a countdown, but may also post in here general conversation if you are just going insane over this wait. Also, this may not be an exact of when the scores will come out, but we don't know how many days before the official 60 days are over they will come out. Last year, they came out around June 15th at 10pm. But this will give us a rough approximation.

Ok, let the fun begin.........

59 days and counting........

Lets pray for all of you and for my very best roommate, and two of my other bestest friends. 😀 May all come with good news in the following two months.

This is for the neurotic ones who just need somewhere to vent their frustration over the wait. 😛

For the first time I too had a MCAT dream last night, was hoping I could get through the wait without one. For some reason my score had a decimal to the 100ths place, so my score was a 32.11 S, very strange. It also had written how many I got wrong, but it didnt make sense since each section said something out of 100. I think I may need some therapy after this wait ...🙂

That used to be the case in years past, you would pay 15 dollars for THx, now they are so kind by giving it for free, but I think they failed to mention that they raised the registration cost at the same time. 🙄

I am just content that scores will be here on the 20th now....no point hoping for the 12th/13th anymore, the AAMC are mean mean ppl :meanie:
Ok, I'll take 20th as well... Anyway, it's 11 days, should be here pretty soon!

So since we know the day for sure now (theoretically), lets start asking about the specific time! Want ot start a pool?

And the clock watching continues ...... tick tick tick tick tick

Looking at last time's thread, the release happened at 11:20PM...

email people from AAMC say june 20th for online release; phone people 12-13. email people have specifically denied the 12/13 statement. my experience with AAMC has been the email people hold the power. I'm going with the 20th and I'm annoyed as hell. Of course, I'll still check obsessively on the 12th and 13th anyway. Whoever started this 12th/13th rumor ought to be fired or at least sent an angry memo by AAMC.
see the thing is i got an email from the AAMC saying the 12th or 13th

i had a dream last nite that a guy i knew was on the phone with the aamc people and they were telling him the highest scores but without mentioning any names of course. in my dream, 3 people had scored a 50 and 1 person had gotten a perfect score of 60. apparently in my dreams, the writing section also gets scored on a scale of 1-15. kinda odd

I had a different form, but I also had the hippie agriculture passage. For some reason, I liked that one (call me crazy). But hearing about how many people hated it, it makes me think that maybe I just completely missed the point when I was reading it and oversimplified... I guess I'll never know...
I agree -- I thought the agriculture passage wasn't too bad. Not sure what all the fuss was about. Maybe it's because I live in Austin, and am surrounded by a bunch of hippies.

And how about you RazzBaronZ?? When did you get the email from the AAMC folks saying not until the 20th?

I wish these fockers could get their story straight!!!

No email, go to:

It's in blue at the top of the page.

I've been following this thread since the 5th or so. Until then, I wasn't even thinking about the MCAT. but these last few days... man have they ever been rough.

despite the official 20th announcement, I'm still checking THx obsessively on the 12th and 13th.

I know it's on the website saying the 20th. However there have been conflicting reports with people calling/emailing different offices (since the 20th announcement went up). Some are being told that despite the announcement, scores will be available online on the 12th or 13th and by mail after that (probably by the 20th). Yet, others have heard that the 20th is the first date that scores will be available in any form.

This just out:

"Due to the high volume of calls and emails, our technicians have been unable to complete the required quality assurance evaluations for the April 2006 MCAT score data. As a result, a new release date for mid-July will be announced soon. Thank you for your correspondence.

Wanna Toywithyou. - Assistant Manager, MCAT"

For a second there, I was scared. You can't do that to us after all we've been through lately! You're funny, though...in a cruel way 😛

You can check the web next week. They should be ready then. We will
mail
them so that you receive them the week of June 20th.

my original email was:

I just saw an update on the aamc website that says the results will be
out
on the 20th of June. Does this mean we can view the results online only
from the 20th or is it still going to be viewable on Monday or Tuesday
(12th/13th of June)? Thanks.

The email you showed was from the "act.org". ACT does not have anything to do with the MCAT does it? Or is this another group affiliated here that I didn't realise?

I answered my own question by checking on the MCAT website. It really is listed as the contact for MCAT paper registration and test administration. Hmmmm. go figure.

I think scores will be out on Monday/Tuesday online and in the mail a week later. i think this is true because this would follow the norm of the past 2 years in terms of timeline when scores would be out.

Hope your right. That would be awesome to think that we just need to get through the weekend and thats it!

Sounds like me a year ago 😉

When MCAT scores were getting ready for release I was getting sooooooooo sick and my stomach was churning. Finally my friend took me out to dinner at this thai restaurant and I forgot about it until I got back and by that time they were up.

I'm already starting to feel sick about it. I want to know so badly but at the same time I wish I could just not know a little while longer. I can still live in my little fantasy land when I don't know.

ACT has everything to do with the MCAT. They are one of the major two groups that govern educational standardized testing.

i don't even want to send in my application thru amcas until i see my scores. i don't want to start working in case i have to retake the mcats which would mean 24/7 studying till august. i don't want to step outside my house in case the results come up and i can then move ahead with my life. i don't want to see my score because then i can't hope i'll get 33 or above anymore which would reduce my chances of getting into jeff which would make me not want to go out ever again and just bury myself in mcat material and....(pants). i'm scared 🙁 can't even think straight :scared:

are implying that below a 33 won't give you a good shot to get into jefferson? I don't think you really understand the whole med school application process if thats what you think.......jeffersons mcat average is only 31 or 32 anyway

i know. my gpa is average n i haven't done any spectacular things in my life so i'm just hoping the mcats will boost my application...hence the desire for a higher score. anyways i'm just freaked out about the whole thing cause i really have no idea what my score is gonna be.

Dude...you're freakin' me out with this!

You sound like my application twin michaelovo! Good luck to you, and hopefully we both get some good MCAT news and SOON!!!

Yeah, the weekend will go by really fast and then we'll spend the night crying (either from joy or the other type of crying... 🙂 )...

So possibly only 2-3 days stand between us and these wretched numbers, never knew a number would mean so much to me.

:luck: :luck: :luck: :luck: :luck: all!!!

I am not even considering submitting my AMCAS application till I know my MCAT score. The schools to which I apply are so directly dependant on my test. If, for example, I get a 32 or something, there is no point for me to apply to Wash U.'s MD/PhD program. The average MCAT at WashU is only a hair below 37! 😱

The bad part will be when the page is actually loading... I'll be certain -- the sort of certainty that comes from the pit of your stomach -- that all the scores I've envisioned myself getting were just self-delusion, and something's about to come up on the screen that will crush me like a bug.

But I'd rather be crushed like a bug sooner than later.

My theory is that the people that work at AAMC enjoy the thought of reducing thousands of otherwise normal students into worrying piles of goo! I wonder if they just read it and laugh at our post. They just want to mess with our head....
**Sigh** I sure hope they come out on Monday. I dont know how much of this I can handle! :scared:

Cracks me up that every day when I come home there are about a billion new posts on this thread. Guess I'm glad I have a clinic to go to during the day - makes the waiting easier.

I think my husband would kill me if this thread didn't exist. I probably bug him by talking about the MCAT too much as it is, but if I didn't have this the therapy of this thread he would've done me in ages ago...

Hey everyone. I am anxiously awaiting scores. I have taken the MCAT once before, so I've got a question. Do med schools compile your best MCAT section scores to get your composite score? Or do they use the best composite score? I am really curious about this.

My family is a wee bit frustrated with me too. Everytime I sit down at the computer my sister says "they're not out til Monday"

Depends on the school, but I believe most of them look at your most recent score.

See, I'm always in front of my computer so my husband doesn't give me a hard time about checking THx obsessively already.
