In the continuing spirit of the tradition started last year, we will hold this as your official countdown til score release thread. You can use this as a countdown, but may also post in here general conversation if you are just going insane over this wait. Also, this may not be an exact of when the scores will come out, but we don't know how many days before the official 60 days are over they will come out. Last year, they came out around June 15th at 10pm. But this will give us a rough approximation.

Ok, let the fun begin.........

59 days and counting........

Lets pray for all of you and for my very best roommate, and two of my other bestest friends. 😀 May all come with good news in the following two months.

This is for the neurotic ones who just need somewhere to vent their frustration over the wait. 😛

It's people like her who screw up the curve for dumb people like me, taking the test when she doesn't have to... Then again, it's a free society, so power to her...

hahaha. i dont mean this to be insulting, but that quote combined with your username cracked me up!

on another note, i just found out that one of my best friends from age 10 to present day is visiting me this weekend. that should pass the time nicely! he leaves on monday night, and im pretty sure I will stop thinking about scores till then.

what a relief.

No problem. It helped me last year and I'm glad it helped some people this year. 🙂

Took a break from the forum for a bit...just saw the jpeg image of the MCAT results...I'd like to join the others in thanking you for sharing that with us! It is great to know what to expect at the "Moment of Truth."

BTW, I can see why you were accepted to such a great school!

Wow.

Hail the jpg

Hail the jpg

Please let that be my score, Bodhitsva, Jesus, Confucius, Buddha, Mohammed, Tan-Kun...

Here is what the scores looked like pre-2003, they didn't total the values up for you for some reason. I'm anxiously waiting scores for this year. Third time's a charm, no? 🙂

Who is the demigod/demigoddess who hath achieved such a score worthy of being worshipped?

Oh the great 38 how I praise thee.

By the way, how many of you guys are religious?

I read on Times magazine that 76% of doctors in the US are religious.... whaaaaaa?

That's a very high number if you ask me.

yeah if my screen came up like that i'd probably jump out the window or something

I think I'd be buying dinner for my friends if I got a score like that to celebrate.

Let me change the demigod/demigoddess to god/goddess.

I just read on the Random House Webster's Unabridged Dictionary that demigod can imply that the god in question is an inferior one, which was far from my intent in using that word.

Hopefully the god/goddess will not curse me to a bad score on Sunday 12 AM.

Wow a dinner? That's it?

If I got a 38, I'd probably build a golden statue of myself and try to teach during summer for the mammalian physiology class at my school, which is often taught by a professor who dropped out from med school for whatever reason.

Drop out of med school and become a professor at a public university.
What a demotion.

They probably didn't like the profession of medicine. But dinner can be expensive and I have tons of friends. 😉

If I get above X on the MCAT, I'm taking myself and 3 friends out to dinner at the Melting Pot to celebrate. I'm not sure if I want the X score more or the dinner at the Melting Pot 😀

We have a melting pot near where I live both in Sarasota and in Tampa. That's awesome. I've never been there but heard its real good.

What is X though?? 😛

BTW to the person who said they had only 3 friends, my various friends joke with me that I know the whole university because people are always stopping to say hi to me. So they joke that I'm miss popular. I tell them its because a lot of people come to me for advice or want me to get them shadowing contacts or things of that nature.

I can attest for gujudoc. She is always trying to help. I haven't met her in person, but here online on SDN she is always very helpful. I can see why she knows a lot of people. Sent you a pm guju

So I had another freaky MCAT dream (this is why you don't watch The Situation right before bed):

I had a dream that BrettBachelor (who looked remarkably like Tucker Carlson) was interviewing me on TV about when I thought MCAT scores would be out. In my dream I said the 13th so maybe that's a good sign 😉

Wow - how did they define religious or did they just let people self-ascribe it with no definition? That does seem high. But if they just asked people if they believed in God, that doesn't seem so high. A ton of people believe in God but it doesn't affect their day to day life and they don't attend temple/mosque/church.

SCORES WILL BE RELEASED JUNE 20TH!!!!

ACCORDING, to the AMCAs website.
AAMC didn't say SCORES WILL BE RELEASED JUNE 20TH
They said April 2006 MCAT scores will be available Tuesday, June 20.
This mean you will get by mail around June20 🙂

Hey Anastasis, find that MCAT chat thread that you opened. We all can then debate questions again. Only now, we have forgoten most of the details so we can all argue about stuff that doesn't make sense to anyone! 😛

Good call! The Melting Pot is one of those restaurants that is absolutely perfect for a group of people...a bit much for just one couple.

If you don't mind, I'm going to piggyback on your idea...if I get above a 32 (I'll go ahead and set that as my bar of excellence...it's all relative!), I will take my wife and my 8 closest friends out to dinner at The Melting Pot in Virginia Beach, VA.

BTW, I don't have 8 close friends yet, so if you are interested in a free meal in Virginia Beach, agree to be my friend, and you're in! :hardy:

Hmm, I don't seem to have my DOB, SSN or e-mail address listed on that page. Only my name and AAMC ID - should I be getting worried. This is my first time taking the MCAT so I've got no scores yet.

Thanks.

Yes, you can definitely add schools up until their deadline. How else could you apply EDP, and then add schools later if you don't get in EDP?

I know I read the specific rule about this somewhere - probably in the AMCAS instructions. It's a very long pdf file, but if you haven't read the whole thing yet, I would suggest that you do. 🙂

Wow. Thanks everyone for the reinforcement. We can definitely add schools 🙂

My screen only shows name and ID too (it is also my first time). I am not worried. Maybe it comes up with the scores? As long as my test results come up they can put my shoe size up there if they want instead of my ID.

I think it's okay. April was my first time taking it as well and I only have my name and AAMC ID listed (and I think Eddie said that's all he saw too...a page or two back). Maybe the DOB, SSN, & email address show up once the scores come out?

Hey I am from Tampa and go to USF. Do you happen to go there too?

Hey gujudoc, sorry i just looked up your profile and saw that you are at usf. kinda new to sdn.

Ugh, I am so stressed out about the MCAT scores. To me, it's a make-or-break score and brings up all kinds of nightmares about taking the pre-med plunge and going back to college. I certainly hope they come out on the 12th or 13th, because the anxiety about the April MCAT scores is interfering with my drive to finish the AMCAS application and to concentrate effectively on my summer coursework. (vertebrate histology and hemostasis) :scared:

AAMC, you are evil to make us wait so long!

Haha, 32 was my "bar score" too. Here's hoping to a trip to the Melting Pot...

Tell me about it. I am sitting here and filling up my activities and have no idea what to write for them or to elaborate on them. Some of this is rather ridiculous like asking abt the numbers of hours per week for getting an award...

April 2006 MCAT scores will be available Tuesday, June 20.
