***Official April 2006 Score Release Countdown Thread***

In the continuing spirit of the tradition started last year, we will hold this as your official countdown til score release thread. You can use this as a countdown, but may also post in here general conversation if you are just going insane over this wait. Also, this may not be an exact of when the scores will come out, but we don't know how many days before the official 60 days are over they will come out. Last year, they came out around June 15th at 10pm. But this will give us a rough approximation.

Ok, let the fun begin.........

Lets pray for all of you and for my very best roommate, and two of my other bestest friends. 😀 May all come with good news in the following two months.

This is for the neurotic ones who just need somewhere to vent their frustration over the wait. 😛

It's hard for me to believe that there's not a chance they'll be out Monday/Tuesday considering everyone who called the Iowa office was told that date. Granted the exam was later this year, and the date looks sooner, but I feel that that's accurate considering that a lot more people took the CBT.

I really doubt that the scores will be available on the 12th or 13th. When they say on the website that they will be ready on the 20th, I think they really mean the 20th. Anyone who things otherwise is setting themselves up for disappointment

That's how I feel about it. I'm not checking the website until the 20th unless I see something posted differently on here.

Most definately check the score immediately. It's like jumping into ice-cold water, just do it quick and the pain will be over quickly.

that is a really good idea...how come they just list everything...they should post it per section...then after clicking next you should be given another section...i dont know if my brain can comprehend those numbers all at once to tell you the truth...

Yeah, the more I think about it, the more I'm pretty sure they're coming out the 20th. Don't get me wrong - I'm pissed to wait another week. 😡

I did this morning, but only to the schools that I know for sure I'd apply to (see mdapps link). I'm waiting for the scores to determine the rest of them.

Yeah, me too- got the email that it was processed and availible to schools yesterday. I figure no matter what, I applying to those anyway, why wait? Otherwise I might be too depressed to apply when I see my scores! Plus, no matter how small it may be, all the admissions people I have talked to said that there is an advantage to getting as early as possible- that is probably the number one piece of advice I have gotten! Well, besides studying... 🙄

yeah, i went ahead and applied regardless just to get ahead of the pack...figured my MCATs would follow...for better or for worse at least I'll be considered early. What's a wasted $30 per school anyhow? 😉

AMCAS login and password are the ones you need. good luck!

i love this thread. i never thought about the mcat until randomly 2/3 weeks ago when i was trying to find out when scores are coming out and this was the top hit on google. and now i'm hooked and have been reading everyday (though never posted until today). the dreams are the funniest thing ever.

...sigh..anxiety spreads just as easily as cheerfulness.

all i've got going for me in terms of scores are prayers. and if I do horrendously bad, God knows best ...

Depends on the school. Some schools give only 2 weeks like Northwestern, others give you till the deadline they post for all applicants. Anyways, it is best to get them in early.

Secondary essays range in topics, from "Describe Yourself" to "tell us about a difficult situation you encountered and how did you deal with, would have dealt with it differently?"

I hope to finish all my secondaries by the end of August latest. So I can concentrate on school or work...

I submitted my TMDSAS, but haven't finished my AMCAS yet. I'll probably submit tomorrow or Mon. (most likely before MCAT scores come out.) It will only be a loss of $160 if my MCAT scores are really bad, since I'm only applying to 1 AMCAS school. I was debating waiting until the 13th, but waiting until the 20th will be too long, I think.

I'm going to do all of that tomorrow just in case we have scores on Monday (please, please, please, please, please MCAT people don't make us wait until the 20th!!!)

My husband just told me that I need to get another hobby besides obsessing about the MCAT. It seems to be all I can think about lately. He's probably more anxious for the score release than I am just so he'll have me back to normal.

It's so great to see someone else obsessing about this the way I am. Luckily for me, my husband is away for the summer so he doesn't have to deal with my insanity.

I'm so amazingly scared at how the MCAT is going to turn out...to me it was nothing like the practice tests (totalling 9) that I took....verbal sucked and biology had 90% bio and 10% organic chem (too bad for me my strength is organic).....

In the Republic of TX, we have to do things our own way, so none of the state schools use AMCAS (AKA Yankee Application Service.)
