In the continuing spirit of the tradition started last year, we will hold this as your official countdown til score release thread. You can use this as a countdown, but may also post in here general conversation if you are just going insane over this wait. Also, this may not be an exact of when the scores will come out, but we don't know how many days before the official 60 days are over they will come out. Last year, they came out around June 15th at 10pm. But this will give us a rough approximation.

Ok, let the fun begin.........

59 days and counting........

Lets pray for all of you and for my very best roommate, and two of my other bestest friends. 😀 May all come with good news in the following two months.

This is for the neurotic ones who just need somewhere to vent their frustration over the wait. 😛

TMDSAS = Texas Medical and Dental School Application Service

In the Republic of TX, we have to do things our own way, so none of the state schools use AMCAS (AKA Yankee Application Service.)

It's all about BAYLOR!!! :laugh:

I really really hope the scores come out on monday. I have to finish my MD/PHD research essay but otherwise I am just sitting aournd waiting. The funny thing is that I recently went through a break up and all my friends are convinced the MCAT score release will cheer me up 🙄 How crazy is that CHEER ME UP? I am so nervous!!! I haven't had any MCAT dreams though So I guess i'm not that bad yet.

I don't really know what words to use to describe how I'm feeling right now...

Giddy? Neurotic?

I definitely fall under the category of "Obsessive Compulsive" 😛

The MCAT stares me in the face every day since I'm training for Kaplan teaching.. every assignment just prompts me to check this thread again! 😀

Ah, only 3 VR passages left to prepare for in this lesson!

C'moooon Monday!

I get so disappointed when I check this thread and see there haven't been any new posts in 14 minutes 🙁 How else am I supposed to pass the time while waiting for MCAT scores? I need a new announcement, some more inside information, anything to get the excitement back up and make this wait a little less painful!

::: pours you a shot :::

Okay, so I called the Iowa office this past Tuesday and they told me next Monday or Tuesday for sure.....and then they post the 20th? Stop the madness!!! Why would they do that?

Oh oh! That reminds me of a puzzler I heard on car talk. I'll let this percolate among the night-owls prowling the thread:

So there's this special stool at a bar where you can sit for a chance to get a free drink. The way it works is that you sit there, and the barkeep will tell you a number. If you respond with the correct number, you get a free drink!

Examples:
Bartender: "6"
You: "3"
:: free drink ::

Bartender: "12"
You: "6"
:: free drink ::

Bartender: "14"
You: "8"
:: free drink ::

So he says "16". What do you respond with to get your free drink? If you know the answer, please don't give it away yet! If you know it for sure, play the bartender and make a new number up! 😛

Oy, back to work... 😡

haha as the date that the scores may be released draws closer...i think im more scared to get the results than anything else...guys are we sure we want them so fast!? hah so the TORTURE of studying can begin again! (pessimism)

Yes!! at this point I would just like to know the harsh reality that is my score.

I'm getting really sick of everyone asking me how the MCAT went and having to respond that I still don't have a clue... I think they're beginning to suspect that I just did really crappily and don't want to tell them 😉

Bartender now says: "1"

The feeling I have now is the feeling I remember having when I first visited the dentist, no picnic. Been so anxious, now im just down right scared. All i ask is for a 30 or higher, thats all, is that too much to ask for?

:scared: :scared: :scared: :scared: :scared: :scared: :scared: :scared:

Hehe, I'm sure you did better than you think. Everyone's impression of their score tends to drop dramatically as it nears the score release date...

I have people bugging me for scores too, but know they haven't a clue what a good or bad score is. So I prepared a notecard with scores and smiley faces 😛. There's a whole range of faces including one that's bawling and another whose mind has blown up. :meanie:

I'm just ready for some closure! It seems like everything including the application is on hold until the scores come out...

I have no idea if this is tested on the MCAT, but I don't get the bartender joke ???

Bartender says: "11"

I can already feel it. The bartender's gonna get sick of passing free drinks out and yell out "93,462! Figure that one out, you freeloader!!" :meanie:

Wahoo! Done preparing the lesson, meow. Time for sleepy.

Meow!

I'm just starting to get so worn out through the whole waiting process that I'm starting to not care about it as much anymore. One night this week I know that I had a dream about it, but I couldn't remember it when I woke up. In the morning I just thought that I don't want the scores back and that the whole thing would just be gone.

so this might seem like a dumb statement, but we're all in anticipation and it might be another false negative again...if the scores were going to come out on this monday the 12th, shouldn't they have posted some sort of warning on the website saying, the grades will be available on the 12th or in 1 business day or something?

The Iowa office said they would be out monday or tuesday? And scores are always out before the mail date! I think the time is drawing near! Ehhh....Don't they only post a message about posting computer scores the day of?

I have some bad news...

It's just been posted that the head official of the MCAT grading has been killed. Because of this, the grades cannot be verified until a new person is elected to take his place. Sadly, this means that it is going to be another 2 to 3 weeks until we get our official scores. 🙁

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news!

Elect me now, and I promise...scores will be released on Monday! 😉

So, was al-Zarqawi the head official of MCAT grading?

You aren't serious are you? How could you ever find that out? Was it on your local news or something?

Anyone on qtr system that has to worry about finals before worrying about the mcat scores? :scared:

Oh man- I'm at UCSB. When I first heard the scores were going to be released on the 12th/13th (middle of finals week) I knew that I wouldn't check until I was done. Didn't want to add insult to injury if it didn't go well. The 20th is cool with me, that way we can have our Spring grades when we apply.

Who did you hear this from, and why would it affect the grading process. i dont mean to sound cold, and my heart goes out to this persons family, but why would this affect the grading process?

thank you

ok, i'll admit that i don't know what that acronym means, but i think it means "give me a break" or something to that effect. If not, ignore this message.

Don't be so quick to judge someone asking a rational question.

This was posted on Saturday night, and the scores were to be released on monday or tuesday? Unless we find out some more info about the circumstances, why would we assume there is some final ultimate report/logarithm/cracking of oracle bones to be accomplished in the last few days before releasing the scores? I hope they've been doing something this whole time... I didn't pay my $210 just to have some guy read my essays for 90 seconds.😀

Also, I should add that I really don't care about getting my score very soon because I'll be going to Ecuador on wednesday until the 22nd (and i couldn't finish my personal statement before i leave).

Anyway, we're all in the same boat, right?

Are any of you considering taking the August Mcat and still applying this application cycle if you find out you did badly?

I'm debating it. Before the MCAT I thought I'd retake with anything less than a 30. After the beast, I'll be happy to apply with a 28+. It just puts you at such a disadvantage though...

I heard that a huge low pressure system is massing directly over the Iowa MCAT offices, spawning numerous tornados which will inevitably carry our scantron forms to Munchkin land where they will play and dance around with them causing an inevitable delay in the release of our scores. Oh the humanity! :laugh:

I tried out Beta 1, and it was buggy. I hear Beta 2 is better, but I wouldn't try it on any non-test system that you wouldn't mind losing all of your settings/data. I'll install the release candidate on one of my home systems once it comes out, but not the Beta 2 release.

Why not try Linux instead, like the Ubuntu distribution (http://www.ubuntu.org)? You get firefox, open office, all of the features promised in Windows Vista and much, much more without paying for anything. You can buy support from independent folks just like you have to do with Windows.

Mizrahi, weren't you supposed to have some important ppl in some important places that said the scores came out last week? 😀 😉

I run ubuntu and just thought I'd warn you that the AMCAS site doesn't let you fill out the AMCAS using firefox on linux. It gives you a warning that your operating system is not supported. Kind of stupid if you ask me.

Yeah I think I'll start messing around with my computer afterrr i finish my personal statement and submit my application lol

That would explain a lot really... AAMC's penchant for torturing us, for example... it all fits!

I had another MCAT dream last night. I dreamt that I got a 26T (LOL about the writing score) but I never got the break-down. The scores were given to us in a graph with all the other people who took the test at the same exam site. I was pretty crushed with my 26. 🙁 GujuDoc was there too and got a 15 on PS, didn't find out what she got on BS and VR. Silly, because I know she didn't take the April test but I didn't make that connection in the dream.

I was sooooooo thrilled when I woke up and it was just a dream.

Please, please, please don't let that be my real score. I would love to have the 42 that I got in my first dream, though! :laugh:
