***Official April 2006 Score Release Countdown Thread***

In the continuing spirit of the tradition started last year, we will hold this as your official countdown til score release thread. You can use this as a countdown, but may also post in here general conversation if you are just going insane over this wait. Also, this may not be an exact of when the scores will come out, but we don't know how many days before the official 60 days are over they will come out. Last year, they came out around June 15th at 10pm. But this will give us a rough approximation.

Ok, let the fun begin.........

Lets pray for all of you and for my very best roommate, and two of my other bestest friends. 😀 May all come with good news in the following two months.

This is for the neurotic ones who just need somewhere to vent their frustration over the wait. 😛

I am considering sleeping for 16 hours a day for the next couple of days. This is to nerve wracking.

Nah, this is cake. Back in my day it took them six months to grade the papers and they released the scores via morse code. Now that was rough.

Hahaha, I too am strictly adhering to the same schedule. Five days ago, reality kicked in and I realized that my scores would be known to me imminently. This prompted me to immediately purchase a 12-pack of my favorite beer at HEB. Each beer = a little bit of (temporary) pressure relief. Ah, self-medication - you never tasted so delicious.

Between the money that I am spending on self-medication, and the random shopping sprees just to get me out of my house and away from my computer I am going broke!! I spent over $500 on new toys for my bike today. I got a new seat, aero bars and all kinds of other gadgets. Problem is that riding it requires leaving my computer behind. Luckily I have figured out how to check THx from my cell phone!

Well, for next year, people will be taking it in January and so they'll start getting books soon.

To the person asking about PS length - I think your post got lost in there somewhere:
The TMDSAS and AMCAS are like 400 character apart which isn't big but the formating is going to bite you in the ass (at least it did to me).

I think that's short but if you're really happy and comfortable with it, who am I to say? Go for it.

Let's be honest, I may not be sitting near my computer all weekend (as I wish I could-- trust me!), but I have a list of trusted individuals who will be able to check for me at a moment's notice!!

I am definitely afflicted with the miraculously lowering MCAT score by the minute waiting for the post... I've accepted the fact that I must know as soon as possible, as quickly as possible.

I figure I'll look at the total score, let that sink in for a bit, then investigate the individual sections.

Man, I'm getting anxious even thinking about it! I took Kaplan, and I know my practice test scores, but those don't always mean much. Who knows!!!

a word of advice-

don't work up the courage to ask out a girl you've been talking to and doting attention upon, slowly building a crush for the past few months shortly after a breakup, only to discover that she has had a boyfriend all along, thus (a) ruining your hopes instantly and (b) calling into question your ability to gauge a female's interest in you -- in any case, don't do this while waiting for MCAT scores.

YES! Every time during the day scores come to my mind, my insides turn inside out for an instant, and I feel the adrenaline surge through me.

At this point, I have an interesting score-checking agreement. Before taking the test I half-jokingly floated the idea of having my girlfriend check the scores for me to lighten the blow a bit. She was less than willing at the time to do as such, but now I am not allowed to check the scores myself. Since all of this score release nonsense has gotten to me, she now really wants to check for me. Either way I figure it's a pretty good deal-- if it's lower than I want, she can make it sound better than seeing the harsh number on the screen. If it's better, the reaction will only enhance the celebration!

Needless to say, I can't wait!

Z---in my MCAT anticipation ridden life, i found the movie just friends(i just finished it a minute ago) to be sweet and cornishly funny. it has a theme of love and in the end guy gets girl by being his dorky self. so have hope although its a movie and even while he was a dork he was gorgeous(these are beside the point) that mcat obsessiveness can translate into true love. oh and her so called boyfriend is just a prop...once she sees your stellar scores i bet she'll be feigning illness just to be around you. i'm no love doctor but i did get my phd in cheering people up(ok no i didn't).

Did anyone have any advisors sending emails out asking "what was on the MCAT?" I kind of thought this was not allowed, and I was very surprised that a Professor at my school was soliciting this information (he does this every semester for the August and April test takers). Right after the test, he sends out a mass email to all the Bio students asking for "feedback about the exam." He then gathers the info and sends out another email "the test was much more focused on organic and specifically on X. Bio was difficult, but only because of Y." But I know he keeps a kind of tally on what the types of questions were from each exam.

Wow... that seems pretty sketch. I HIGHLY doubt that's allowed, especially considering the "don't memorize any part of this exam" disclaimer the proctors had to give. I suppose he's just trying to be helpful.
