In the continuing spirit of the tradition started last year, we will hold this as your official countdown til score release thread. You can use this as a countdown, but may also post in here general conversation if you are just going insane over this wait. Also, this may not be an exact of when the scores will come out, but we don't know how many days before the official 60 days are over they will come out. Last year, they came out around June 15th at 10pm. But this will give us a rough approximation.

Ok, let the fun begin.........

59 days and counting........

Lets pray for all of you and for my very best roommate, and two of my other bestest friends. 😀 May all come with good news in the following two months.

This is for the neurotic ones who just need somewhere to vent their frustration over the wait. 😛

Not it...you guys, i think they would have posted the data by now if they were going to release tonite.

yeah, a 26 sounds very good right now, as compared to my nightmares about getting a 17 or so.

Anyone else glued to their chair today? I heard the scores usually come out at midnight, eastern time, so that translates into 10pm here at home, and around 8 or 9 in california. So, I'm kind of nervous right now. It's funny, becuase I wasn't really nervous before today, I didn't even think about it that much, I mean, there's nothing I can do about it now, I got what I got and that will be it. But I still pray for God to have mercy on my poor pre-medical soul and give me a good good good score, haha.
I've been telling my parents the scores come out today for the last two weeks, and yesterday I hinted that tomorrow was a big day, and they looked at me and said "Why?"....and I seriously wanted to cry before they told me "as if we didn't know by now". So there, to top it all, I have cruel, cruel parents.
I think they're not nervous enough because I've always been a good student and they think I'll be just fine, and that med school acceptances are not so hard to gain (I'm afraid we're a foreign family...) and my little brother (he's 12) tells me "shut up, I'm sure you did fine". Yesterday, one of my uncles asked me where I'm going to med school (as if I already knew, w/o applying yet, lol) and what specialty I chose (HAHAHAH, SO FUNNY at this point). As I said before, my family thinks med school is automatic after one decides to go to it. I think they were seconds away from asking me when I start working at the nearest hospital.

Where can I find my calculated GPA(s) on AMCAS? I can calculate them myself, but I just want to make sure that what I entered was correct. Anybody know? 🙂

well the people who do to the habit do tend to be extremely inconsiderate...a lootttt
I find that nowadays, it is non-smokers that are far more inconsiderate in showing their disgust for smoking in public. Before smoking in restaurants was banned here, people would routinely choose "first available" seating, sit in smoking, and then fake cough or make rude comments about the people smoking at the next table over (we were those people sometimes.) I think people are far more judgemental about people smoking these days, than smokers are inconsiderate. Heck, smoking is banned in most places anyway, leaving little room for smokers to be inconsiderate.

I don't think there's any way of finding out by AMCAS, you just have to calculate it yourself. I use an excel spreadsheet and excel tools to do the calculations. I've been doing it since sophomore year, it's neat. I also have them divided into F/S/J/S years, and into science and overall, and a nonscience, etc, and COLOR CODED. Yes, I know, I know....

The only correct response to this post is: Damn.

shhhh, it's a porta-potty rental service in DC 😉

actually it's MCAT policy, research, and august registration... so yeah, if someone calls, use other number

i thought the DC number is for computer based only or something.. and iowa was for paper test info.

Anyone else get annoyed when people have to burst our bubbles and say, "guys the scores won't be out till tomorrow, don't bother"? Let us pretend, stop posting to ruin our dreams! 😉

I call bull**** on this one. The anti-smoking nazis are one of my pet peeves, and I have done a lot of research on the subject. To my knowledge, there are no studies that show a significant increase in health problems from smoking a very small quantity of cigarettes.

It is absolutely true that smoking does lead to increased heart disease, but ear infections? I call shenanigans.

Whether someone gets hooked or not is a result of their own willpower. Did you see Supersize Me? Remember that guy who was hooked on Big Macs?

For the record, I am usually a non-smoker, but I do smoke very rarely (let's say that I maybe smoke 2 packs of cigarettes a year.) I've never gotten hooked (but I'm not denying that others do.)

lol well good for you..... not everyone is as lucky as you, but how does that make it bull**** because you havent experienced it?

Smoking is a very touchy subject because it's so policy driven. Tobacco companies love to spend big bucks to pretend they are helping people quit smoking, but what you don't realize is that they spend big bucks getting people to do "research" on how smoking is not that bad for you (maybe stuff you read) There are so many opposing viewpoints, it's easy to get lost in it all.

about the ear infections thing, I did a poor job of explaining that, but this is specifically something in young children who are exposed to second hand smoke. There is data on this.

Consider this though..... Back in the 60's, tobacco companies swore, and with "supporting evidence and research" that smoking DOES NOT CAUSE CANCER IN ANY WAY. Well, we all found out what a load of bull**** that was.

I think the secretaries sit there waiting for us to call, then they take turns terrorizing us with different times, that way we become confused and frustrated. I can just see them laughing.... :meanie:

Haha, but seriously, I hope they're up tonight, that way I can sleep on my awful score, rather than finding out tomorrow and then having to endure the world right away. 😕

lady says "we don't know what time they will be released but we've been told tomorrow."
