So I have seen posts on the 20th and the 16th but nothing for the 14th. I can't wait to get this over with, counting when my kaplan course started I will have been MCATting (not a word) since October and I can't take it anymore. Most frusturating part is that I didn't have that much time to restudy, but at least I got a seat. Anyway, who's ready to take it, I know facts cold but anytime I think about the test my left arm goes numb and my face droops a little. If only I didn't get that 7 in verbal on June 15th+pity+ (I apologize for abusing smiley faces in my posts there just so cool)

Haha I'm still around, enjoying the start of the semester and all the other good things that go with that.

Haven't paid much attention to the august 16th and 20th posts though. Was the reaction really that much worse than the reaction to the 14th?

16th seemed easier, 20th much worse

My concern is that no one else found the verbal rough, but I thought the verbal was the toughest section. I found that many questions had two answers that sounded reasonable. This is not gonna be pretty :scared:.

f*ck that's exactly how I found the verbal.

I felt like there was about one per passage that were pretty tricky, but I'm hoping that I figured those ones out... I'm pretty sure I missed two, but the rest I think I may have gotten correct. Hopefully I don't have a false sense of security.

I've talked to a number of people that had a hard time with the VR - I'm sure that you're not alone. Don't get too stressed out until you see your score. You may surprise yourself! Good luck, man!

You may have had a different form than me. It seems that half of the people here thought the PS was impossible while the other half say the same about the BS. Hopefully both PS and BS will have generous curves! 👍

Amen to that Brother...

My PS section had like 70% chemistry it seemed, and next to impossible first couple passages, which really left me shaken for the rest of the section.

Hope not, I thought the PS section was the hardest.

Oh God, me too. What sucks is that the first passage was easy which gave me a false sense of hope. It kind of went downhill from there. I guess I was hoping for more GCHEM and instead got my worst nightmare of being mostly physics.

So what do you all think now that July 24th scores have been released. Does anyone know how our reactions of the BS compare to their reactions of their BS section?

I'm worried now that I had perhaps an easier test and the curve will be very strict.

Did you do the discretes first?

I think so, I made a mistake by spending too much time on the hard passages and had like 20 minutes to do like 21 questions at the end. The ps section had an unreasonable amount of calculations I thought, half of my time was spent on that.

Do you guys really think they have varied difficulties for different dates? I don't buy that the July 24th people had a harder exam then us. The 14th exam was not easy or fair, and it seemed different than most of the AAMC practice exams. I thought no amount of studying could have prepared me for what I saw that day.

How many questions do you think had calculations? I hear that it's supposed to be 25% calculations and 75% concepts.

Also, I thought that the 14th exam was not easy but it was fair. I felt that the AAMC practice tests were pretty representative of PS and VR, although I do agree that PS was slightly calculation-heavy. As for the BS, I don't really know what to think. On one hand, the passages/questions seemed vague and ambiguous at best, but on the other hand I still feel like it was fair. It's kind of hard to explain my feelings about the test. The BS was definitely unexpected, but I still think it was fair.

Of course, all of these opinions may change on September 12th.

Hi, all
It seems like everyone had a tough time with PS and BS sections. However, fortunately for me I didn't think PS was that bad, I am good with calculations so i didn't mind it at all. For some reason, BS completely tricked me, I felt like I could have picked 2 choices for a lot of questions. Did anyone else had the same experience? Also, the MCAT scores are released on Sept 12th at 5 p.m. right? or sometime after that?
THanks,

Yeah, that is exactly how I felt about both the PS and BS. What'd you think about VR?

And yes, our MCAT scores are scheduled for release at ~5:00 pm on Wednesday, September 12th. Sometimes they release them a couple of hours early, and sometimes they release them a little late (a day or two). I'm actually somewhat expecting a delay in our scores - I think the August 9th test-takers will get priority in grading over us since they took their test first.

No, no, no, no, no.... I made a mistake. I have already fixed the post. Sorry to freak you out. 😳 Scores are scheduled for release on Wednesday, September 12th at 5:00 pm.
hahaaa sorry yeah wow i'm really on edge... what are all of you doing now? anyone going back to school?

im back in school....although i dont really know why.
im taking anatomy, zoology, pharmacology, biochemistry and calculus.
its a hefty load so i might drop something somewhere.
but i just realized its probably too late to apply to allopathic schools this time around and im debating whether or not i want to apply to DO schools....because if i get in, then thatll be it, and i wont consider MD schools--and i wont know if i stood a chance at acceptance =/

I'm not applying until next summer. I'm taking a year off after graduation to work (I would love to teach high school/middle school), earn some money, and take a break from school. I took the MCAT this summer so that I could study for it without having classes on top of my MCAT studies. Also, I wanted to give myself enough time if I had to retake it.

i think thats the best thing to do...with everything i hear about applying at this point in the cycle--its pretty much just throwing money away.
I am a sub teacher and am taking a few courses two days a week, which means i can 3 days and volunteer on the weekends.
i am thinking of doing the Kaplan MCAT prep course next spring though...ill determine that once i get my results back from this MCAT.

Fortunately, for me I think I did decently on the VR section. Perhaps, because I was also preparing for GRE's simultaneously. I hope our scores don't get delayed. I feel like I will die out of anxiety attack.

13 days down, only 16 days to go. Can you believe that it was less than two weeks ago when we took the MCAT? Crazy...

I knowwww time is flying by. I want to know my scores but on the other hand really don't even want to look at them lol

It's slowly creeping by for me. This is the longest 29 days of my life.

I'm with you about wanting to know. But I only want to know if it's good. If it's not good (or at least decent), I'm going to be really disappointed.

Waiting.. really does suck! Here I am trying to have a good time with my friends, trying to enjoy of what's left of this summer vacation and the only thing I can honestly think about is MCAT. Only 15 more days.. it's killing me!!!

At least you still have a summer vacation left. I just started school last Thursday, but I've already had one quiz, two papers, and multiple readings to do. I thought that school would help me get my focus off the MCAT, but the MCAT is making me take the focus off of my schoolwork! All I can think about is that stupid test!

Chad, I just have to say that your list of schools is OOC. I'd recommend taking off some of those OOS public schools that don't take many OOS students unless you have ties to those states.

....like Indiana, for starters. A ton of us got automatic pre-secondary rejections this year for being OOS. (Or that's the reason we're giving ourselves, anyway. :meanie: )

Wait, does OOC mean Out of Control? Ha ha, I know! I've already decided I'm applying to 20 schools. I'm just not sure exactly which ones yet. I know that I'm definitely applying to:

1. Drexel
2. GWU
3. Mt. Sinai
4. NYMC
5. NYU
6. Penn State
7. Temple
8. University of Pennsylvania
9. University of Pittsburgh
10. UVA
11. VCU
12. WVU

And if my scores are good...
13. Columbia
14. Cornell

My entire extended family is from Pittsburgh, and although my primary family all resides in Virginia, I still have an extensive network of family around Pittsburgh. Also, both of my parents started their masters degrees at WVU, and my Dad earned his Masters in Petroleum and Gas Engineering from there as well. He actually helped raise a whole bunch of money (six figures and up) for their engineering school when he worked with a company here in Virginia. I doubt that would give me much of an advantage, but I guess it's worth a shot anyway.

Does being born in a state/city have any weight at all?

PS - Back on topic, as of 5:00 am, we will be at the halfway point - halfway between the end of the exam and the score release! 👍

I wish I can spray my self with Joker's laughing gas before I look at my scores. So even if they are bad, I will just keep on laughing.

HA hahahahhahh hahahahhahahahahahahhah hahahahahhahahahhahah

I'm really not looking forward to days left 1-7.

On another note, I think my mom is more nervous about my score release than I am.
