Not that I took the MCAT or anything, this past August, but just because I feel like you all should have a thread like the one Crazy Cav had for us in April..........

The former test date was when friends took it, and they told me the scores were there on the 59th day after the test too. Arsenic810 who took it in August 2003, just one semester before that has said the same thing.

The only advance is a few hours before midnight of the 60th day.

No, it wasn't weird per se . . . she used the font that Arsenic810 just used all the time, and everybody else used this boring one!

Why is everyone changing their fonts or avatars??? WhatUp will always be Bugs bunny, Evo will always be a frog, Shrike is the bird, guju will always be the cat with shades, Arsenic a Simpsons cartoon, and JustR will always be the gal with the crazy verse and font posts!!!

C'mon, why hide your true selves? Besides, I need some CONSISTENCY in my life.

Sorry for changing the subject, but I was thinking...if schools really do get our scores in late Sept (which is now) then why don't people get interview invites until late Oct/Nov?? (Assuming you are complete of course) Do all schools get scores early or just some? Or am I mistaken and some August MCATers get interview invites prior to Oct 18?

I am not so sure about this one. Maybe if noone answer this then you should post this on the Pre-allo side some people might know there more better. I am also waiting for my interviews just because my MCAT scores are not in yet. I had taken MCAT earlier and I did horrible on it. so I really don't know.

I'm not sure which scores you are referring to that will be received by any school at this time (us August MCATers won't have scores to send out till at least the 18th-19th of Oct.) As far as being complete... some schools will give out interviews before you are complete and some will not. From what I have heard and read, it seems schools in your home state are more willing to give out interviews to those who are not complete/don't have MCAT scores yet. Remember that for some schools... interview invites extend all the way into April (I know my state school "UT Memphis" does this). I think there is another thread in the pre-allo forum titled "Interview Invites for August MCATers" or something like that. You might wanna check that out to get the gory details on invites prior to October score release 😉

Word on the street is scores come out the night of Oct. 18th.

You need an AMCAS ID to login to the Thx system. Go to the aamc website for that.

You don't ever need your mcat registration ID and password, if that's what you were referring to.

Anybody ever wonder what is going on with their test right now? Like, is it being graded at this very moment? Where is it located? Did it get lost? Did anyone spill coffee on it rendering it ungradable? Is the room my test is sitting in well air conditioned? :laugh: Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh... I'm gonna crack soon :scared:

Yeah!! The test is being graded every moment, and I hope someone does NOT spill some coffee on my poor transcripts. It would be horrible if I were to get a good score. But, if I did poorly, oh I pray someone spills the coffee over my transcripts, and miss bubbles get erased quickly. :laugh: :laugh: :laugh:

haha, i hadn't really thought about it that way (as far as spilling coffee on it and things like that), although now that i think about it, it's pretty reasonable that it could/would happen. i worked as a grader for many different classes and although I was generally careful with papers that I had to grade, the professors and other graders often spilled pizza, coffee, and other items on the students' work (with no apologies, of course!)

i had a slightly different but equally not cool incident with my biology IB test (similar to an AP test, but for the international baccalaureate program) back in HS...somehow the test sections had to be sent out separately to Geneva, Switz. where they were graded, and one of the sections got lost in the mail b/c my prof. didn't send it insured mail! they had to estimate my overall score based on the other 2 sections. i was pissed. 🙁

but to make a long story short, i think we'll be safe. aamc, the people who both write and grade the mcat, know how important it is, so i assume they will be careful.
