Man, this guy is so typical. Buddy,

when did you go to pakistan? 23497289734 years ago.
Research and then make generalizations so that you dont look like a fool.

Hey, "Buddy",

Have u ever been to pakistan? I was there last year, karachi and peshawar to be exact; and i can tell you that there is little or no western influence. Can't say the same thing about our neighbors (as I've heard from my indian friends).

Yes, and important values they are too - women as second class citizens subject to gang rape and murder, widespread public support of international terrorism in the name of religion, etc., etc.,etc.

You're not there any more (if you ever were), you've been lucky to get away from that stuff, pal. Drop the sectarian nearsightedness and accept all people as people. You'll be happier if you do.

O rite and such things don't exist in India? Where things like dowry and caste rule every marriage conversation.
Women are not considered second class citizans. Just because they cover themselves and show modesty does not mean they are being oppressed by men.

I can see that i've hit a nerve amongst my indian friends; this was not my intention at all in posting my earlier posts.

I was just trying to make the point that there is a legitimate differnce between the two countries and to group the two nationalities would be a wrong endeavour.

Thanks and I apologize if I've offended anyone.

Can't we all just get along here. Lets all hold hands and sing Kumbaya!! 😀 😀

I don't know those pommies have been playing well as of late. I mean they did beat Australia. It's gonna be a good series. 👍 👍

Dhoni is the MAN. Man those towering sixes. He blasted last 50 in just 27 balls. This guy is got a lot of power. Good performance by India in the series. One nice thing about india is thier fielding has improved a lot recently.

Is anyone going to NOVA?

When's your interview at Tufts? Nice criteria on how to select your future college

mysteree how did your interview go,

BALE BALE! Tunak Tunak dah dah dah...

Congratulations to everybody who got it!

On a side note... since you guys are probably bilingual at minimum - do you guys plan on going to India and helping people in need there? Short term or long term, whatever...

The reason I say this is that I am often jealous of the people at my current school who have the multiple foreign languages and can easily assimilate into another country and make a huge impact immediately and relatively effortlessly.

Just my 0.02...

What's up Burton,
Actually that's a damn good point you brought up. I plan on going to India this summer for 3-5months and getting some exposure to dental practices there. ..the relative availability of new technology, hygiene, and such. My ultimate goal once I get established here in the U.S. is to spend 1-2 months each year providing free clinical procedures for the poor...mostly child labor workers. Kind of like a grass roots organization, that way not only do they get dental hygiene taken care of, we can actually get a better picture of the social network of such workers through this interaction and possibly bring about a better standard of living through educational opportunities and NGO financing.

Not a question of if, but when.

Good point, I hope my other fellow desis and non-desis alike will work with me on this.
