Thanks for the loan info! I'm not sure if I'm going to do that AF HPSP thing so maybe I'll look into that loan! Is anyone else on or thinking about HPSP and know much about it? I've tried to search the threads and found some info on it, but it was mostly about the army which I heard is a lot different than the AF.
Anyway....more about the facilities. Well, like I said, the floors and walls were all painted, but they did still have yet to finish up the ceilings and finalize the electrical work. One thing I did notice throughout the tour is how roomy and spacious everything looked...even the hallways. The student lounge area looks really nice when you first walk in...that double-sided fireplace w/ the DNA molecule going all the way up is going to be really cool. Next to that is the kitchen area and most of the refrigerators, etc. were all put in, but it sort of looks like any other cafeteria, just a lot bigger. They also said they were going to get a company to host a coffee bar next to it, so that should be really neat. The lecture hall was also complete. It's very long and skinny, but looks nice. I can't remember what color the seats/desks were, but I want to say maybe a greyish color. The OMM room like I said, is awesome. I dont' know if they told you or not, but the tables are going to be hooked up to these motor type devices that will allow you to move them up and down so it's easier to work on your partner. There's also a changing room that looks a litte small, lol, but that's really cool that they have one in the OMM room for us. The library was also done except for the furniture/books, hehe. One thing they said that they are going to do is that they're going to put a lot of the study tables/furniture near the windows instead of the books so that we'll have a more pleasant studying experience. And like I said, the gym is also complete. There's a 1/10 or 1/12 mile track that's above and overlooks the basketball court on the second level. This is also where the cardio/weight equipment is going to be (it's still at their temporary "garage" gym right now). Cardio equipment is going to be on one side and the weights on the other. They have elipticals, treadmills, stair steppers, and other random-type eqipment, but like I said they have 1' x about 1' flat screens attached to them, which is really really nice. The women's locker room is across the basketball court (which is kind of weird because we'll have to cross the gym to get to it?), but that's ok. Umm...that's about all I can think of...I should've taken pics with my digital camera! I wish I could tell you guys more but I was seriously not mentally there that day (I was feeling so sick and at one point during the day when the 4th year OMM fellowship students were giving their demonstration I pretty much passed out, oops!). Hope this helps! And I agree, they should have a camera inside the building! ~Amanda 🙂
