Quick question for those of you who took the DAT this summer, How long did it take you for your first interview after your DAT?

I just took mine and im filling out some supps at the moment. But I mean Dr. Reo has gotten two? It seems like you just took your DAT 3 weeks ago!
 
Indiana came by mail. I'd like to note that they didn't update their AADSAS status. I was 'patiently' waiting for that.

Indiana asked if I could fax the DAT to them. I told them I didn't have a fax machine but I can scan it. I took the DAT 6/28. So, yes, about 3 weeks.

Maybe they all appreciate my 2,300 character PS :laugh:

I also got an Indiana invite! I won't be re-taking the DAT until early September 2009. I'll take an interview invite anytime though!
 
My interview virginity will go to Case
 
Yea... got one from UF for 8/8. oh my, less than 2 weeks to prepare. now i'm nervous

Congragulations. That is cool. I got mine a few weeks ago, but I don't interview until Aug 28th. That is way soon for your interview.

i know.. i really don't understand their system. first, i was required to fill out the secondary before they could offer me an interview (which i submitted right away) now, they offer me an interview way before yours. anyhow, i'm just glad that i got one this early. good luck on yours

congrats to everyone who has interviews! my application is about to be complete in most schools they are just waiting for my DAT scores. my question is- considering that they receive my app two weeks from now when should i expect to hear back from them?
i am asking because if i do get some love from some schools then i won't have to retake the DAT. i got a 16 for PAT and 20TS 19AA, my PAT score is what worries me. i called the schools i am applying to and some said that i am ok because my gpa is 3.76 cum, sci 3.71. the earliest i could retake is around november, but considering costs and time i don't want to risk taking it again. so.. i would like to know when i should expect to hear back from schools? sorry if this is a bit confusing.

You should post this on regular pre-dent forum. You post your interview results here...
For your question, it will probably take a min. a month for the schools to process your file.

wow... they actually call for an interview? i thought most schools do emails and snail mails.
 
they sent me an email before calling. she called b/c the email didn't have specific dates listed.
 
I think I mentioned somewhere on the forum something akin to:

"I would shower in gasoline for a week to get an interview at Nova"

I just need to find someone to hold to the can over my head; I am a man of my word.

NOVA!!!!!!!!!!!!! OMG it feels so good to get that first interview and not feel like your going to get rejected across the board. Now I have a question it was updated on AADSAS that I got an interview so do I call NOVA now or wait till I get something in the mail from them???

PACIFIC!!! Got a call from Janelle today!

I'll be giving up my Oct 3 interview spot at Nova on Monday (switching to Dec 12, so I can stay in Miami longer)
I also have an interview at Case in Sept.
 
I am pleased to report that I have received an interview invite from Indiana.

For those of you keeping track, I have reached a plateau on my 1RM bench press at 305 lbs. Happily, my 1RM deadlift has been increasing steadily and is up to 450 lbs. I meant, for those of you keeping track, I have 2 interview offers at the moment.

I am so confused...I submitted my application May 29th, but they didnt mail my hard copies until July 28th. Does this mean I will be waiting a while for an interview?

Creighton actually invited me for an interview before I submitted my secondary. When I got the email I stopped to check my records because I was certain I hadn't paid my secondary yet, of course I sent it out the next morning.
 
Congratulations to all of you for making it this far into your career. Congratulations for those who have gotten interviews already for the 2009 class, that is a great achievement! I would like to take this time to just tell you to make sure you do your research well and ask many questions to upper classmen at the school where you would like to attend. I am a 4th year dental student now and I can tell you these past three years have been some of the most difficult years in my life. Dental school is tough in itself, but many many pitfalls have been caused by the dental school itself, whether it has been the faculty, the staff, or the administration. Now, I know each and every school has its problems and there will never be a perfect dental school, but please talk to the upper classmen at those institutions and ask them for the real deal, because the last thing you want are "surprises" during your academic years. So, good luck, make the best of it, and be ready for anything because a lot of surprises can and will occur.
