You're very lucky. UK is my DREAM SCHOOL. I'm OOS and had the exact same mailing date, too. What are your stats like?

For those who have received interviews at UNLV, did you include the extra page for "Additional Information Please attach an additional sheet to explain any extenuating circumstances or provide the admissions committee with
additional information that may be useful in evaluating your credentials."
I didn't include any additional information and I hope it doesn't get held against me...haven't received a rejection nor interview invite yet!

This thread is so quiet on weekends...
I concur. Also SDN activity slows down drastically over the weekend lol, At least for me I do not come here and check every 10 minutes Saturday and Sunday haha

If only they worked on weekends... schucks!

Ironically, I had a lot of action happening last Saturday. An email from Western and UofP!
I checked the "received" time, and it was after-hours on the weekend. Perhaps an automated system?
Since then, I have continued my SDN refreshing throughout the weekend. 😀
Rejections: NOVA, Western via snail mail

email from uop?
Nothing from MWU-AZ, or NYU yet. Am I hosed? LECOM just moved my file to review last week after a prerequisite issue. Losing confidence quickly. At least I've got a Baylor interview to look forward to. whew.
Who has heard for UCLA or USC regarding their supplementals? I havent heard anything from either of them.. They give it to most applicants yeah?
Does anybody have any idea when UoP starts sending interview invites?
Second interview to UConn! My first was to Nova. This is so exciting!!!

Why is Indiana rejecting people with such good stats?

I was rejected in late July. I asked them why and they told me I need to shadow a "general practice dentist". I worked as a dental assistant with an orthodontist, so I didnt meet their requirement. 🙁

I was surprised when I first saw my rejection letter from Indiana, so I emailed them to ask them exactly what was lacking. Here's what their reply email said,
"After reviewing your outstanding credentials, the committee felt that you would most likely accept a position at your home state school. However, if you are indeed interested in attending Indiana University School of Dentistry, we would be happy to extend an interview. Please confirm your willingness to travel to Indiana to participate in our interview process."
Any thoughts on what this all means for the application process? Is it really this arbitrary that an email can change a school's mind?

Hahah it means they are scared you will reject them instead! I would email or even call them back and tell them you are interested in attending their school.
On another note... I just emailed them and asked why I was rejected and how to become more competitive. Here is some of what the director of admission told me:
"Thank you for your message and for your continued interest in IUSD. Per your message, I reviewed your application again. With the exception of your QR score, which falls one point below our minimum, your DAT scores are all acceptable. Your manual dexterity skills are impressive, as are your exposure to the profession and your history of involvement, service, and volunteerism. Unfortunately, your inconsistent grades concern us greatly, and your cumulative, science, and BCP GPAs all fall well below the averages of our entering class and are not competitive given the strength of this years non-resident applicant pool. I recommend you enter a one-year pre-professional masters degree program in biology (nonthesis option). If you earn a 3.5 graduate GPA or higher, we would consider extending to you an invitation to interview with us. I hope this information helps you. Feel free to contact me if you have additional"
What a very kind and helpful individual! 😍 I am already impressed with the school because of their willingness to help applicants regardless of the volume they receive... some schools don't even care to give guidance to applicants. Anyhow, I am happy to know that my DAT scores are acceptable 🙂
