Interview at Columbia!! Third interview so far (Nova, UConn, and now Columbia). Mailed out 7/4
Why does everyone care so much about the mailing date? They won't process your app until you pay your secondary fee so the more pertinent question should be...

Because it helps to see if people in your mailing batch are already getting interview invites

I agree with double bonded. It doesn't matter when your AADSAS app was mailed out, since you won't be reviewed by the school until your application fee/materials have been completely received and processed.
Agree. But I think both mailing date and application received e-mail are important to find out how far the school has processed their applications since sometimes LORs or DAT delay the application complete mail, but once they arrived, earlier mailing batch gets earlier consideration. (not higher chance)

Edit: Scratch that, they did send me the "we received your app" e-mail, I had just deleted it and forgotten! Also what the heck do they mean by "Applicant portal"?
They (Columbia) deposited my fee almost a month ago, haven't heard a single thing, e-mail or snail mail, in fact it's the only school I haven't gotten even an acknowledgment from.

Haha, I know what you mean. I'm hoping being a URM can help me, also...but always makes me feel bad to think I might have gotten in over someone more qualified 🙁
