And I have oGPA: 3.43 sGPA: 3.35 AA/TS/PAT: 20/21/21, do I have chance for Tufts?

Did that work for you? Tufts said not to call them or write them about that stuff.

i did not call. but i was very close to because that is my top choice as well. fortunately i received an email before i called. i was encouraged by alot of ppl (former applicants, current tufts dental students, and alumni) to call for an update and express my interest. someone told me they called last year and they wrote in their profile that they called and expressed their interest.
 
got into BU and NYU - found out at midnight on Dec.1 and got an interview invitation from Tufts Dec. 9 for Jan 5-12
 
Acceptance today to UMDNJ by e-mail. Says my deposit is due by 12/31/11, but the letter also says please ask for the hard copy materials by 12/5/11...thinking they just used the form letter from 12/1 without changing things.

More importantly, looks like UMDNJ is starting to send out their second round of acceptances

Well congratulations. I really hope I hear from tufts soon. It seems that they're sending out a lot of interviews right now. I hope one comes my way.

AADSAS says temple rejected me yesterday.

WHY!?!?!?!?!?!?

I don't understand. My stats are better than their average student. That was suppose to be one of my back-up schools! :cry:

sorry man but your sGPA is way below their average. That's probably the reason.

yours - 3.25
theirs - 3.46

I've noticed that GPA and sGPA seem to be the most important factor. That's assuming you have a 19 or above on the DAT.

And probably your submit date. I was told they take the cream of the crop as the applications roll in (based on stats). Maybe you didn't look so creamy by the time they got your app.

Where are you getting those stats from?

According to predents Temple's stats are😀AT 18.8 PAT 18.7 GPA overall 3.33 GPA Science 3.19
I beat EACH ONE of those stats. And god, how could have submitting in december screwed me so badly?

Figures on predents are from the 45th ADEA book which is old I do believe

That sucks man, but it happens to a lot of applicants, I personally thought I had a good shot at Western but they flat out rejected me. I chock it up to being late having my package complete, but who cares really, especially if Temple was just a back-up to you.

predents is less than 10% of all applicants, its not accurate to use that. The newest ADEA book lists the figures i've mentioned above. So its clearly your sGPA. sorry mate 🙁

Numbers matter only for pre-screening. I notice an awful lot of emphasis on stats. Stats should satisfy the necessary conditions (should fall within the averages for the school). After that, UG school, major, trends, course toughness, range of courses, XC, clear evidence of interest in the field matter. Also, each school has its own philosophy (ASDOH/AT Stills and NYU at the other extreme), and finally the interviewer's interpretation of your personality seals your fate.That is why one finds applicants with less than avg stats get into great schools, while some with near perfect stats don't get into any school.

I saw in one thread that an applicant was rejected by Indiana, and on calling back, received an interview. So many things and tricks involved, and you might want to try something like that. What have you got to lose?

ASDOH acceptance today; email and phone call. Late/Mid november interview.
 
I got an interview from Midwestern il for feb. What are my chances?
 
I've been out of the country for a couple weeks but just came home to a Colorado acceptance and NYU waitlist in the mail.
