Hey there everyone! Figured I'd start this thread since I recently started preparing for the June 18th MCAT. For those of you who are taking the June 2nd MCAT, June 18th MCAT, or still considering one of those two dates, feel free to post here with any questions, comments, concerns, or support you have to offer!

Good luck to you all! Let's crush it.

Guys at least CARS was your only tough section. I thought it went well which means I did bad- someone who took a previous test only had trouble with 3 questions and ended up with a 125. So don't worry. And I also guessed on half on C/P. You're welcome for bringing down the curve. Stupid AAMC practice tests. Also EK and NS were not predicative. 515? Jokes Jokes.

506 scored (127/126/128/125) f you psych. 515 unscored but I'd taken it almost a year ago once before so maybe there's some overlap. I definitely didn't remember anything at all though

Did you take the scored or unscored last? That's a big difference between the two! I think you'll do fine.

And you know this how?

He's actually correct. We could take the test with only 1 other person in the whole country or 1 million people, and our score wouldn't change. People that had these questions previously determine the curve. So hopefully they didn't do that well.

So it's scaled according to people who have taken the exam right ? Isn't that what I said ?

No, the AAMC calculated the score range stuff LONG before anyone showed up. They run analytics on the passages, etc before we sit. Two people or 2,000,000 could take the same exact exam, passage for passage, and the scale will not change.

These passage were "tested" at some point before the 2015 exam was administered and also with experimental passages that are on the exams now.

Those tested passages helped the AAMC get the score range placed BEFORE we take the exam.

Fixed it for you 🙂

I suppose. Truth is, no one really knows. Unless you work for AAMC - neither do you for certain.

Umm I did not think cars was the only difficult section... CP kicked my ass, then I figured "I always like cars, it'll boost my confidence!" and then I kicked my ass too. BB was close to the scored in terms of difficulty, and then PS is always one of my best sections and the entire thing felt like an abstract CARS 2.0 where there was no data analysis and bizarre passages on low yield concepts that I had never seen before. PS is actually the section I'm most worried about, and I always did well on it in practice tests.

I was thinking about how much I mark on real tests vs the practice tests, but I don't think that I can compare them. The MCAT was unlike any practice test. Maybe we took a test for the government to recruit us or something. Maybe this wasn't the MCAT. My proctor seemed shady.....

@Ad2b @Dr.Burns - guys lets not fight over something so trivial!
Sorry, that doesn't fly with me 🙁

He's perpetuating bad information SDN which the site has tried to limit. In addition, basically, he told me I'm full of guano and seriously, I take offense at that. And he can't admit he's wrong.

Someone's ego is hurt .

Yeah I was misinformed. At least I know I am. You're actually on here thinking your theory is fact. But that's besides the point, we're here to deliberate our scores not discuss the scoring system (which no one other the AAMC knows) But I guess the waiting game gets to people's heads

Since tomorrow is the day, let's have some fun. 😉 What was everyone's post-test prediction?
Mine was: CP (129-131), CARS (124-126), BB (130-132), PS (129-131) (total= 516?)

Scored: CP (132), CARS (126), BB (132), PS (131) (total=521)

Last edited:
CP -123 (I was going to put 118, but I realized that I probably got more than 5 right)
CARS-130ish (my dream score, but prob not real)
B/B-125-126 (too many people thought it was very easy, which means the curve is set to be harsh most likely)
P/S- 128 (very hard to predict)

CP - 123 (Because I literally ran out of time and guessed on 10-15 questions)
CARS - 130 (Ideal)
B/B - 126-127
P/S - 130

Real talk, I'd be thrilled with anything above a 510 at this point...

My guess: CP (128-129), CARS (130-131), BB (128-129), PS (129-130) = 515-519, probably on the lower end of that range

Even if you're on the lower end you are still good to go 🙂 515 is a dream! I'm sure you got it.

I remember you thinking C/P was horrible too. Do you think the curve will be good enough for a 126? Because if I can get a 125-126 on C/P I think I will feel a whole lot better.

I actually took the scored last. The unscored was like 3 weeks before the scored. Thoughts?

Lol I think you'll do fine! CARS on the unscored was super easy, so that's why I placed more stock for me in the scored, but 515 is good!! I got a 515 on NS1 and either it was A) inflated big time or B) just luck. You have the gpas where you can get a 506 and still get in.
I feel bad saying this, but I'm really banking on being a legacy. I heard in some schools you can add a few points to your LizzyM. I just want an interview.

@NecrotizingFascitis didn't you get like a 515 on your scored? You should be good to go then! I wish I had gotten than on my scored. I took NS1 the day before the test, scored a 515 and I was like Wow! I got this. And then I realized I don't got this midway during C/P.

Currently have a 3.83 cGPA and a 3.9 sGPA. What score would likely get me into my state school? Haha that's such a broad question.
