Thanks everyone! I wouldn't worry if you haven't heard. The woman I talked to said that the files for interviews were just slowly trickling in, and they had only invited a handful of people so far (it seemed on the order of 5-6). I'm sure nearly everybody is still under review and will be hearing shortly (I was complete in early July).

You will get them! I was complete really early everywhere. Also, they probably get fewer of the non-science MD/PhD applicants and so they wait until most of those special apps are in before reviewing them and deciding whom to interview.
 
so nothing since solitude's crazy JHU invite yesterday? Hopefully next week will be the start of massive amounts of interview invites for us all (ie. WashU, Baylor, Hopkins, and all the other places that start interviews in early October)!!!

Hey I got an Idea for a new drinking game.

Every time Jweezy and Solitude get an interview, we take a 1/2 shot. That way we should take about 11-12 shots a day. If it gets out of control, then we can bring it down to a 1/3 per interview. What do you guys think?

:laugh: I like it. Don't worry man--I was complete extremely early everywhere I applied. If I am lucky enough to get into WashU or Hopkins in October/November I will be withdrawing from almost everywhere.

Nice. I don't know how you and your friends drink, but ever since march of 2006 my friends and I have a 30 ft rule between drinks and comps. Turns out that orange juice and vodka can literally make laptops shriek and give off smoke.

But don't worry, the laptop still work...it takes 13 minutes to turn on...but it works.

I am a guy. I am considering rescheduling though becuase I will be fasting for Ramathan ( I am muslim). Its kind of hard to say no to Wash U.

Look at their website, they have interviews just about every week. It wouldn't seem so bad to put it off a week or two - especially if you're more comfortable when you aren't fasting (ie. energy, rituals, etc.). But if you want to go during Ramathan (Ramadan - why the spelling difference?), I'm sure WashU can accommodate your fasting/eating schedule.

Either way, best of luck!! (I was only asking guy or girl because of roommates in the hotel)

Apparently the Hopkins invites have started coming out, I'm current student, if anyone wants tips on what to bring, where/who you're staying with, inside scoop on the faculty you're interviewing with (or some good ideas on who to ask for), etc., feel free to PM me.

The pronunciation is 'ramaTHan' in arabic where the 'TH' sound is similar to the word 'the'. The closest spelling is 'ramathan' but some people spell is ramadan or ramazan.

I didn't apply to JHU (or to WashU, for that matter), so I'm just happy for everyone else who gets invited 😀.

I have yet to receive any further instruction via e-mail. I believe they will call first. I was instructed on the call what time I should be there, and some other logistics about the trip. PM me if you want to know.

I wish UVa would send a little love my way. However, not for the 4-5th...my LSU interview is on the 3rd, my birthday is the 5th, and my UVM interview is on the 9th. That would be a bit much.
