The MOSDOH class of 2023 Facebook group has 104 members...

A lot of the members are current students in other classes and admin so dont look at that for how many seats are open. We had a meeting with the dean last week and I think there was approximately 10 seats open, so keep positive.

I emailed admissions last night and was informed that the class is full.

I interviewed on Feb 21 and emailed the admission counselor 10 days later for an update and she said the committee was waiting to meet until after the March 7th interview date. However, another prospective student told me she called Rachel Stice on Monday (3/11) and said that the committee still hasn’t met and was going to this upcoming week...meanwhile you say the class is full. Sooooooo does anyone know which story is true? I have a hard time believing they interviewed 30 people on feb 21 and 30 more on March 7 but the class is full. Maybe they have made a descion but haven’t sent out decisions yet? Who knows :/

Just got notified via email that I am on the alternate list

I just got a call Friday 3/22 that I was accepted! Whenever I spoke with someone before receiving my acceptance I was told that all seats had been offered. At this point I think they are waiting to see who pays their deposit to hold their seat and will work off a list of alternates if those offered seats aren't claimed.

I waited a month after my interview to get offered a seat. I know it is hard and disheartening, but try to stay positive! Things work out how they are supposed to. If it doesn't happen for you this year I hope it does next cycle!!

To any current dental students....what is your opinion about having a work/study position your D1 year? Would you recommend having one or not?

The first semester is brutal. If you can get one in the library where you can study while working. If not just wait until D2 or second semester.

I wouldn’t say it’s “Brutal”. Challenging? Yes. Manageable? Absolutely. There is enough time to study for tests, and do other things outside of school.

HI guys, I am an incoming 1st year dental student for the class of 2023. I was a little curious as to what loans we should be taking for dental school? I'm awaiting a reply from enrollment services but I was wondering if Federal direct grad plus loans were the only option or if there were any private lenders that MOSDOH has worked with for loans? If there are would any of you be willing to share which private lenders has worked with MOSDOH? I'm just curious as this is my first time taking loans out. I also was wondering if we should have the loans ready by orientation or by the first week of school?
