Ummmm....I have 4 empty jars and a sealed bottle of formaldehyde sitting next to me 😳

If what H2O said is true, I'll share...for a price! :meanie: Remember, the best places to go get teeth are oral surgery clinics. For the best collection, go to a high yielding private practice, that way the teeth collected will be pearly white and coated with gold or diamonds. score 😉

BTW, whens the next party? Its summer and our facebook group is larger than ever!

I'll pay....I am too damn lazy.

Hey everyone,

As far as laptop specs, I know that they become very picky with what they allow. They might even recommend a certain screen size, who knows. I'd just wait off. I think it's supposed to be a few more weeks until they send out the specs, so we'll wait and see.

We, unfortunately, can't use Macs. If you have one, start practicing on a PC.

And yah... when is the next time we all meet up?

damn im so jealous....i wanna be class of 2012!!!

Most of the time, OMFS teeth suck. It's usually all third molars, teeth with dilacerated roots, or totally bombed-out teeth.

You're basically looking for straight-rooted first molars, possibly second molars as well as nice straight-rooted anterior teeth. A premolar here or there would be nice, but not totally necessary. Basically all nice and intact teeth with straight roots.

And the best place to find these teeth?

is there a way to just buy jars of teeth? Cuz I havnt even opened the packet that tells us where to buy the jars. If anyone has any idea, let me know. Thanks.

glad i'm not the only one that's lagging...haha

just start calling up oral surgeons and they'll prolly help you guys out. thats what i did, and the second guy i called was real cool.

12 finals later and we are officially done with our last quarter of 1st year.

Don't worry about the teeth...you won't use them until your spring quarter (you'll need 3 molars and 3 anteriors). They don't have to be perfect either...in fact, make sure that you have some crappy ones to use in operative so you can save the good ones for later.

hey you guys!
I am really concerned about the financial aid issue. I haven't received any information about the amount I'll need to borrow. Does anyone now this yet?
Does anyone have a loaner yet?

Same here... I was hoping by now we'd have found a lender and got the process started already. I haven't heard anything yet from fin aid

i think things like this just take time in a public school system. talking to other students, it seems like ucla takes a little longer on these matters. but since we start later than other schools, i think we'll be fine. hopefully we'll hear some more news by mid summer.

I haven't received anything anything from fin aid either, as far as lenders, MPN, etc... However, I do know that the cost of attendance is ~ $60K.

hey guys, we're trying to plan another get together the weekend of june
30th. i'm not all too familiar with la yet, but was thinking some place in santa monica or anywhere else somewhat nearby. there's a thread on facebook about it, so try and respond if you have any ideas.

Sorry, this post was a mistake. Please ignore the subject.

I am down to share the cost with others who havnt made much progress in collecting teeth. 350 is kinda hefty, so if anyone is interested, let me know.

Hey, has everyone arranged their living situation for the upcoming school year? Keeping in mind the possibility that i may not get weyburn or student housing, is anyone looking for a place outside of student housing who is interested in a housemate? If so, PM me and maybe we can work something out. 😉

Hey guys. Has anyone recieved their diplomas and sent it in to UCLA yet? Is there a deadline for doing this?

Additionally, please post anything to let us know if any one of you has recieve any information about loan packages/lenders.

Thanks.

Hi guys!
I just moved to westwood, does anyone living in the area want to take a CPR class with me? Here's the website:

www.ezcpr.com

let me know 🙂

So I emailed Frank the financial aid director at UCLA asking him a question and he replied...

" While we do want to get all financial aid application materials as soon
as possible, we should still have plenty of time to get everything
processed for incoming students. At this time we are having to give
processing priority to continuing students who need funds for summer
term.

Take care!

--Frank"

And this was a week ago so I'm guessing they lag like crazy on this stuff...

Has anyone heard anything new about the financial aid situation yet? Has anyone signed anything with a lender as well?

I'll assume the answer is no if I get no response. Thanks everyone.

Nope 🙄.

What is everyone doing in our last weeks before school starts? I am posting from Vietnam! Cheers 😉.

I just got all 4 wisdom teeth pulled...a real nice way to prepare for dental school wouldn't you say...lol

oh man, hope you're feeling ok. at least from now on, you'll be on the other side of the procedures.

hey, so have all you guys heard from your big sibs yet? i haven't really heard anything at all.

Can anybody recommend an online course that they've taken for the CPR certification.

Thanks.

So which lender(s) did everyone choose?

Anyone else moving into aloe court on 9/15?

I got sycamore ct. Anyone else?

I have Zero teeth.

I had zero teeth when I went to UCLA. Don't worry about it. Some people are lazy, and others are go-getters. The lazy people "borrow" teeth from the go-getters. Someone posted the type of teeth you want, but it's wrong. What you're looking for are teeth with intact crowns. You're mostly going to be practicing operative preps on them, so you want intact crowns to make ideal preps. The roots don't matter except when it comes to endo, in which case you want straight, intact roots on a variety of cases. And premolars are HIGHLY valuable. You're going to do competencies and finding premolars is pretty hard.

As far as big sibs, it's overrated in most cases. Sometimes you'll find a big sib that helps you out quite a bit, but most of the time not. It's because everyone's busy with their own thing, especially when it comes to clinic times. You're mostly going to rely on each other. You guys have a great group started here. Good luck to you.

Class of 2002.
