Has anyone heard back from UT Memphis? If so list the date your app was completed and if you were put on hold/scheduled for an interview/or rejected.

I sent them an email the first week of August and they replied that my file was complete. I haven't heard a thing since 😴

I got this today. It is confusing given that I already called them and had found out that everything was complete last month. Wierd 😱

I got that wierd email today too. UT doesn't seem to be quite on the technology bandwagon yet...though I did see a place on their website where you can fill out your secondary electronically. Would have been nice to know that when I was trying to type on the paper one 🙂

yeah i got that email today too...very weird. I wish I had know about the online secondary, but then again we did question their technological eptness.

edit: by the way, I've done research at UT and know the school pretty well...and just to let you all know, *everything* runs slowly around there! Don't worry about it, especially if you're instate.

yes UT is waiting for my scores, but they emailed me saying they received my primary and that my status is active. 'tis all i know.

I haven't contacted UT about an interview or even if my application is complete, yet I got this email from them today:

"As stated in your previous email, applicants will be notified via
standard mail when you are scheduled for an interview. It is not necessary
to contact our office to find out when you will be interviewed. We
realize you may be anxious, but relax, we have a lot of applications to
review and will contact you as soon as possible.

What the heck? Hopefully, they sent this to everyone becasue I don't want them to think that I am pushy? Should I call them about this?

Yup, I got it, too. UT-M doesn't seem to be the best with projecting the spotless image of a well-tuned machine, but it's at the very top of my list.

It's all about the sticker price. 🙂

They said in our group to wait for a letter. Perhaps he was being sarcastic, but he seemed serious about it. I've called some places and they were pleased to tell me. Others said I had to wait on an email or a letter. I would call given it won't hurt your chances and if he didn't say anything to your group, you are probably fine. You can plead ignorance 🙂 I suppose I'll refrain since he said something directly to our group.

Well, he told our group as well. He said (with a wink) they dont call because they cant be sure who is on the other end. Im just very tired of waiting like everyone else. I think the worst part is that friday THEY will know what my status is, but I wont!

secondary submitted 7/18, interview invite 10/1, interview 10/25, waiting to hear result

My file was complete on 9/16 and am still waiting for an interview invite. I called last week and they said my file was still under review. WHat is taking so long 😡

All i can tell you is that they are really slow. If you called and they told you it is under review, there isnt much else you can do. Chill! Did you apply to other schools? I was complete very early, and my interview at memphis was the last one i recieved. But if you already called, not much else you can do!

And just in case you didnt know, they send the invite to your permanent address.

I would assume you would be selected for an interview considering how the secondary basically just consisted of asking for more personal information, i.e. address/class schedule, and only about 5 lines for comments of your choice.

I believe this post is for real? Yeah i called, and I talked to Nelson. He wasn't furious, just didnt give me any info over the phone. I was accepted about a week later, so i guess it didnt hurt me any 🙂

You could, but i can almost guarentee you that you wont find out anything. I dont see how calling to see what your application status is will hurt you. If you are worried something is missing from your application, call. If it is complete and they are just taking forever, still cant hurt to call. Give it a shot if you want, but dont expect to hear anything.
