FRUSTRATED!! I have been working so hard in Calculus and I really felt like I was getting it. Now I am sitting here the day of the exam doing some last minute studying and I am not getting ANY of the answers right. I am freaking out...

Ok...carry on. I will be ok...surely I can do this after all the studying I have done. 🙂

same here, just my exam back and its a b 😡. I realize I gotta study harder to if I want to make an a. It's not so hard to make a b in most classes but its a struggle when trying to make an a

i hate calculus and i hate math! arg.

Hey guys! I really think I have a shot at an A on that test! ::crosses fingers:: I was a little more prepared than I thought I was. Seriously though...if I can't make an A after all the work I have put in to that class then I don't see how anyone could. Yay. Now to prepare for my Chemistry exam next week... 😀

If it makes you guys feel any better - in Pharmacy school - you need to understand Calculus - but do not use it all that often (unless you choose to)

(now Organic - for us, the first and second assessment included a WHOLE LOT of Organic - so stand by...

Interesting...I did hear that we need calc in Pharmacy school. That is one reason why I am putting so much effort into it to actually learn and understand it (that and PCAT). But I'm curious to know what you mean by, "unless you choose to [use calculus]."

what part of calculus do we need? part 1 or part 2? part one is mainly derivitives; part 2 is integrals and sums of series.

My guess is whatever they cover in semester 1 or quarters 1/2. Otherwise we would have to take the second semester/ 3rd quarter.

edit- I have a question for you. Last quarter I took calc 1 (quarter based). Our grade was based entirely off of two tests. The first I got a 93. The second (it was the final) I got a 71. I ended up with a B. The final was almost (as in 95 percent) on Related Rates word probems and max/min word problems. It seemed like too much of the test was word problems. Is it normal to have the final be on word problems or would it be more normal to have it be based more on derivatives and first/second derivative tests, etc? I studied a ton for the word problems but the ones on the test were very different from the ones for hw. It seemed unfair to me but maybe thats normal (and I know college is rarely fair...)

It really all depends on what the prof decides to throw at you. It doesn't sound like your final was cumulative though, especially since you only had two tests. My calc classes tended to be a mix between word problems and straight math.

Hmm. I kind of liked calc and o.chem. haha, now I feel nerdy.
