Was anyone a little ticked off that OSU's secondary asks specifically why you want to become a doctor?

hmmm - I went to that Case site that the link's been floating around for, and it says that they were unable to retrieve a password for me.

hey everybody, we may be meeting each other soon! i'm an undergrad at wright state, and word on the street is that interviews will start in august this year. i just looked at my calender and said "holy crap, its august!" i'm pretty sure osu does early interviews as well.
keep this thread alive, or we will be buried under the yearly SDN mudslide of texas/cali threads

i submitted case's secondary without the invite. i'm pretty sure that there's several others on SDN who did the same.
i realize that its stupid of me to submit without contacting the school to make sure its ok, but at this point, i don't really care.

For all you that have received the Case Secondary, I was just wondering what sort of topics will you be talking about in their first essay question.I freaked out when I saw that the limit is 7,000 characters(2pages!) and they want you to talk about a non-medical experience....
wright state has started to issue interviews. i'll be there 8/25 (well, *technically* i'm there everyday, but i meant in an interviewing sense 😀 ).

I haven't submitted case yet because the essays are pretty long and I'm getting help from friends working on them. These essays can really be frustrating! ARGGGG!!! On the other hand, they also really make me dig deep in introspection to help me understand why I really want to be a doctor.

well, the reason i was checking my status page in the first place is because i was waiting for my LORs to show up as received. on friday, my status page finally said that my letters were in (they ought to be--they were sent from DAYTON ohio 3 weeks ago 🙄 ), and my application status had been changed to "interview invitation".
they automatically assign you a date. i'd like to go on 9/15 (i'm assuming this is the first day of interviews), but its the day after my UPitt interview, meaning that i'd have to live out of a suitcase for ~3 days and miss lots o' class. there's a place on the page that you can click that says "please re-schedule my interview" but i don't know what will happen if i click it! i may get an even worse date!
i'm calling them monday morning to see what can be done.much luck, everybody.

Well SD, that makes me feel better, coz my LOR's were just mailed out about a week ago. So by your metric, I shouldn't expect an interview invite for perhaps the next 2 weeks......
BTW, I spoke to UC, and they told me that interview invites would be issued in mid-September, they are still working on EDP stuff.
fyi, TripleDegree: EVERY LOR that goes to osu is processed by the SAME office. what do i mean by "EVERY"? LORs for law school, pharm school, grad school, business school, vet school, dental school, med school, etc. ALL go to one place--so don't hold your breath for them to update your status page!

Tell me about it!! That LOR office drives me nuts!!! so you haven't gotten the secondary email from case yet? if not, have you tried the whole "SDN-password-request" trick? that's what i did, and it worked just fine. i would suggest you do that to, as i am 99% sure they don't screen.
p.s.: it took case even longer to process my LORs than OSU!! 😱

what, where you enter your ssn and amcas ID? That doesn't work for me.....superdevil said:

hmmm, how strange. when did you add them to your AMCAS? if it was more than 2 weeks ago, it might be best to call them and ruffle some feathers. anyway, the two essay questions are posted on several threads in the pre-allo forum, so you could take a look and work on them if you'd like. if you can't find them, PM me and i'll send the prompts to you on sunday. they're not that bad, provided you've got some research experience.
