YES. It’s 7 am PST and wow, what a thing to wake up to!!! I am definitely awake now.

Ohio state is currently viewing our application. It’s crazy to think right now an ad com could be dictating and deciding your future. Good luck to everyone. I know everyone here will give the application pool a run for their money.

It happens every year. Because too many people email asking about updates and it’s the point that admissions’ time is bombarded with questions rather than dedicating it to actual reviews. So they send a mass email to basically everyone to shut up and be patient. It happened with many schools last year alone because of the increase in applicants

So it says interview days are Jan 11th, 18th and 25th. Only 3 dates...that makes me nervous because last cycle they had Jan 3, 4, 5, 12 and 26th.

Maybe they will have more man/woman power to increase the amount of applicants interviewed on the days! Plus - just like interview invites - I’m sure the interview dates could change/ be added on to if something were to happen.

The year I applied, my cat ended up at the OSU ER shortly after I interviewed and I got a call from a student “Hi this is so and so from Ohio State.” And I completely forgot about my cat being at the hospital lolol.

Does Ohio calculate their own gpa or do they use the gpa submitted by vmcas?

They use VMCAS GPA calculations for everything (CUM, Science & last 30 hours) A bonus if you have a lot of animal science classes or higher level elective sciences because those all count for the science GPA. From my file review last year:

VMCAS Overall GPA
VMCAS Science GPA
VMCAS last 30 hour GPA

The application review considers the following components:
Veterinary & Animal Diversity of Experience
Veterinary & Animal Depth of Experience
Community/Volunteer Service, Work and Leadership Experience
Characteristics Indicating Potential Success and Future Contributions In Profession
Ability to Contribute to Diversity in the Profession

The interview considers the following components:
Knowledge of the Profession
Leadership Skills
Self-awareness/Adaptability
Teamwork/Conflict Resolution
Interpersonal Skills
