My online application admissions status switched from "deferred" to "decision" some time ago, and it says that they will notify me by mail, but the letter still hasn't come. I called and they said that they can't tell you anything over the phone.....which is sort of what I thought in the first place til I came here and saw some OSU accepted people that were notified by phone. Anybody have any insight on this? Gosh I hope they don't just call the accepted ppl and snail mail the rest....

Maybe it depends on who you get when you call. I know a friend of mine who was accepted into OSU's dental school was notified by phone, but maybe that's not a good indicator.

Any help/insight is appreciated. Thanks

I am an in-state for Ohio State, and I was fortunate to interview over the holiday break in January when I was home from school. I interviewed on January 10th, and unlike some in-state applicants, I did not receive the acceptance phone call... I got the snail mail version. So, basically there is no standard rule as to how accepted applicants hear from OSU. Some get phone calls, some get mail... don't stress too much about not getting a call. I didn't get one either, but I got accepted 😀

I also was accepted in-state via snail mail. I interviewed in late November and even though most of the people I knew who interviewed around when I did got phone calls or were even accepted at the end of their interview, I had to wait for the mail. I was certain that my thin letter was a rejection because it took 1.5 weeks to arrive and I hadn't got a phone call, but much to my surprise it was my acceptance.

I think some interviewers call and others just send out the letter. Hope that helps 🙂
