Just finished my undergrad @ OSU. Awesome school! If you search the OSU threads on here RE: interviews you'll find a lot of good info. It's set up like speed dating...I think you get 10 minutes with x amount of interviewers, go on a tour, and apparently enjoy some decent refreshments.. not sure if the interviews are open/closed file, but I'm inclined to say that they're all open!

If you're OOS and got a first-round invite, you're already golden!

Does anyone know if they've already sent out all of their first round invites? On their website it said that they would send them out on Sept 8 and 15 for Oct 8 and 15, respectively. But from stalking predents, it seems that they sent out invites on Sept 15 for Oct 8? I'm so confused!

I received my invite on September 15th for the 8th of October.

I'm excited! My wife grew up outside of c-bus and her family still resides there. Ever since I became a part of the family, I was considered an "adopted" buckeye. My wife and I got married in Dublin and the morning of the wedding, I took all the groomsmen and guys to tailgate. Needless to say, one of my groomsmen was a little tanked at the wedding! Also, the people and community there are so friendly and go out of their way to help out each other. Its amazing and something you don't see everywhere. I would be honored and my family and I would be extremely excited to earn an acceptance there!

Going to watch the football game against Nebraska that evening at Eddie Georges! Anyone else wanna join in?

I'm sure you'll get in! Your stats are amazing! And, aren't their interview:acceptance stats pretty much 1:1?? Or maybe I fail at reading that excel file...

It would be nice.

I think its more like 1.7:1

And that was 2 years ago.

Ohio State interviews 180 people and 106 are admitted.

Interview was phenomenal! I had an interview earlier in the week and while its facilities were top notch, I think OSU's faculty and students really make the difference! Very open, knowledgable, and an obvious desire to connect with the community and help people.

And bummed about the game.. Thought it was going to be a "W" for sure..

If anyone has any questions about their process, feel free to PM or post here. I've tried to outline the day below..

Schedule of events for the interview:
Location: The Blackwell - across from the horseshoe!
Time: check in between 7:30 - 8:00.
**Impressive part - a very large number of current students just come and sit down at your table and start talking to you.

Eat a light breakfast and then the day starts with a welcome from the admissions director and the new Dean.
**Impressive part - The new Dean seems to be full on about new facilities, improving and making sure that the "excellence" in the program is met.

Guests go on tour while applicants are broken into two groups of two.
One group goes to their interviews, the other goes to student panel & presentation on "why OSU".
Interviews - it is speed dating. 10 minutes with each person simply talking about particular items, very relaxed and friendly. 2 minute "rest" where you can read the bio of the next person you will be meeting with. Very cool.
After interviews and panels - lunch and the world famous cup cake bar!
Post lunch - applicants go on tour. Visit the dental school and are free to ask questions throughout. Again, very welcoming!
Lastly, financial aid session (optional).

This whole time is spent per the schedule above, but most importantly, you are always talking to someone from the school whether it be faculty, students, staff, etc.

An amazing day of getting to know THE Ohio State University Dental School!
