Hey Everyone.
I just got my MCAT results back yesterday, and I was disappointed in myself. I did much much better on the practice tests, and I just choked on test day.
Do you all think I need a retake?
Better than me. I got a 19 (7,5,7) and a 3.4 cum,3.0 sci. I want to retake now, but my work (>50 hrs a week) and school (>18 credits, including medical biochemistry/medical physiology) is so packed that I would not be able to effectively study and raise my score, perhaps even get lower. My plan is to simply apply in Aug and get through these classes. After this semester, I'll only by down to 16 credits and >50/hrs a week. I will start studying for my MCAT in OCT and take it in Jan. I called around and a couple schools (even top schools) stated that as long as you are not <18, and have at least a 5 in verbal, you are okay. Some said 20. Noone I called said >21. I think you are 95% safe. I'm not and thats why I'm retaking. (I'm more like 50% safe from my general understanding. Here is my problem, I have never taken a formal review prep class. Is worth it to pay 2k to only raise my score 2-3 possible points, especially if I can get in with my current 19 probably. Decisions decisions decisions!!!
why are you killing yourself with that schedule? You know about the whole 90 credit hour thing, right?
I agree, that is stupid.
