PharmCAS has finished calculating my GPAs and they have broken them down into Science, Non-Science, Math, etc. as you are all aware of. Because my ENGINEERING courses fall under the SCIENCE category, my Science GPA is low, even though all my pre-pharmacy courses had high grades (As or Bs, and actually very few Bs). So will pharmacy schools look at this Science GPA to base their admissions? I thought they were supposed to base admissions on overall GPA and perhaps pre-pharm classes GPA? There really needs to be a separate category for Engineering courses.

Doh, I agree, was hoping I would be able to put some in the Math category 🙂
Hopefully my 3.0 in math will suffice lol, thanks for the heads up.

Let me guess... you're an engineer right?

I'm just afraid these schools will look at my way higher Non-Science GPA and wonder why I'm not doing liberal arts instead? 😳

Luckily, my Math is pretty high as well. But, the engineering classes really do screw with your Cumulative too (as if the Science wasn't enough).

starsweet, engineering courses are a different beast entirely. Relax. You're not alone. I graduated in '01 w/a BS degree in computer science. I had only a 3.1 GPA in my computer science coursework, and I'm pretty proud of it -- still am, lol... Since I've come back to school, I've made sure to nearly straight A all my pharmacy prerequisites to compensate for my "Office Space" past. 😀

LOL, "Office Space" past says it all... 😀

I guess I was concerned that it would look weird because my Science GPA is below 3.0 and my Non-Science and Math are well above 3.5. But thanks for your reassurance!
