Online Masters Program as an SMP... Thoughts?

I am seeking opinions on how an online masters would be viewed by adcoms. I am hoping to work as an ED Tech or EMT in my gap year since I just got certified, however, my GPA could use some work and I would like to get some graduate biomedical science classes under my belt. Liberty University online has a BA in Medical science Online that I am interested in. The two schools I am most interested in are Liberty University and VCOM- virginia campus. I am attaching the curriculum. How would my application be viewed after completing this masters and getting a year of experience in emergency medicine. Thanks in advance.

I'm going to be honest - you're not going to get much love on this post in these forums. The program is probably fine in Liberty's eyes given that the Master's is also through Liberty. I'm not sure how other schools will view the program, though. Liberty gets a lot of hate for many different reasons (you can search and find out). Online programs in general also get a lot of hate for many different reasons. What is your undergrad GPA? Do you still have a year left in undergrad? The Master's program grades will not directly affect your undergrad grades, though I do believe they will show an overall averaged GPA on your app. For admission purposes though, the focus will be the undergrad coursework, making the utility of the Master's program questionable if its sole purpose is GPA repair.

I didn't know online SMPs were even offered. My opinion - I don't think it can hurt you, but I'm also not sure if it's going to be worth much.

I have one year left in my undergrad and I have a projected cGPA and sGPA around 2.9. I am trying to decide whether or not I want to take Physics and Orgo 2 at UVA or just wait and take them at a small regional 4 year or Community college (I realize I have to confirm these CC credits). If I finished everything here at UVA I wanted to complete an SMP but most require a 3.0 minimum. I am leaning more towards just retaking most of my prereqs at a small school or CC because I got C- or C in BIO 1/2, Chem 1, and Orgo 1. I just thought graduate courses might look better in upper level sciences but I will need to work as an EMT to support myself and pay for school. This SMP looks like its easy to be accepted so I figured I would inquire here. I am really leaning toward graduating spring 2019 with my BA in bio and then taking a year to work, shadow, and retake/complete the classes listed above, along with a biochem class and study a ton for the MCAT. If that all goes smoothly I would hope to have a GPA of around 3.3 cGPA and better looking grades in my prereqs since they no longer do grade replacement. I Hope to apply in the summer 2020 cycle.

Is there a particular reason why you are interested in Liberty? Generally speaking, it's not a school that most people recommend.

In my opinion, you would probably be better off looking into a post-bacc or SMP that you can take in person. Online programs are convenient but my understanding is that they are generally looked upon as less challenging or even less legitimate. Especially since it's hard to guarantee that most students are taking those online classes seriously and not leaning a lot on google to help them out.

You can take your pre-reqs at your state school or CC. It is fine. SMP require all pre-reqs to be completed before you get in.
TUNCOM can take you with 2.9sgpa and MCAT is not required but you must complete your pre-reqs.
