Only Shadowing General Surgeons

So I'm applying this cycle and my only formal shadowing experiences have been with two general surgeons, 75 hours total. How will this affect my chances, especially at schools like VCU who place a heavy emphasis on clinical experience?

Primary care is an important area with which to acquaint yourself. If all you have seen is specialty care you are less well informed than is desirable.

Primary care physicians refer to surgeons, so its important to get to know their thought process as well. Also, many people change their preferred specialty while in medical school. It helps to arm yourself with as much information as possible.
