I am taking my exam on monday (24th) and am kinda in a state of panic right now..🙁 i guess thats normal;but i had a cpl a things i was hoping you could help me with.
On my confirmation the time given for the test is 8 am. Does that mean that the test starts at 8 am or i have to be there at that time. Could you please tell em the exact procedure you went throught for the CBT. Wat time you got there? wat time the test commenced etc.
Thanks a ton and good luck for you results,
Chandni

I have a question if anyone can help with the answer....
At what age can you tell for sure that a child does not have a 2nd premolar:
2, 4, 6, 8, 10

The 2nd premolar starts to calcifie at 28 months...(around 2 1/2 years) and the crown is completed at 7 1/2....

My doubt is...which one do you consider???? I think it's 8 but I am not sure....if anyone could help...

thanks

Hey Chandni,
1st of all dont panic.Actually, even i did..it is normal..I felt tht i was just not prepared for the test and wht has made me take this date?..anyways, its over now?..will know if i was right in registering for it after my results hehe..

Now for ur query..

For all those who are taking the CBT..here's how it is..

U all might have got an email confirmation...u might have been given a time on tht..Chandni u have it as 8am..right?..well it means tht ur test will start at tht time..at 8 am..So you have to be there at the centre atleast 1/2 an hr before i.e. 7-30am ..take 2 IDs with you..eg: ur passport, driving license or state id..anything which has ur photo and signature proof. Go and show ur email confirmation print out at the desk,,they'll check ur name in their list..and u will be asked to start ur test . u are required to give ur thumb print there..thts it..nothing else..U will be given 5 sheets of paer and pencils..When u start with the test, u will go thro' a tutorial 1st.which will explain u how the test will proceed..try taking it..even if u know how it all is..this will make u relaxed.. u'll get used to the environment around..for those who are sensitive to any noises around.u r also given ear muffs..

the monitor will display ur name on the top..and on the right hand up corner will show u the time..1st section is of anat sc /physio/biochem.which will last for 3 1/2 hrs..after ur 15 min tutorial this section will start. the count down will start..on the bottom left hand u will see 3 tabs: previous, next, and marked...to go to next ques u'll click next..and u can go to previous ques also if u want...if u are in doubt u can mark those ques..by clicking on mark..after the 1st 100 ques of anat next 100 will be physio biochem...they are in continuity..no brk in between...if someone wants to answer PHY/BIO 1st..they will have to click on next 100 times to reach 101 ques of phy...
when u finish with the 200th ques..on the bottom right corner of screen there will be another tab saying "review"..when u click tht u will get to a page which will show you how many and what ques nos have been marked..and which ones are left incomplete/unanswered. You can either click on those ques nos. itself twice to go to tht ques..OR u can click on the tab tht says "Review marked"..it will take you to all those marked or unanswerd ques..u can again proceed thro all those as u did before..by clicking "previous/next"..again.. at the end u'll have the same table showing how many have been answered or left marked..u can even go thro all ur answerd/unanswered ques by clicking "Review all"..

When u are done with this and time remians ..u will be asked on screen if u want to end tht section..if u click "yes"..u will NOT be allowed to go back to tht secion again...If u have left anything marked..doesn't matter..all ur answers ques are considerd..there is no negative marking so try answering all ques.

U r given a 1 hr optional brk after 1st section..i'll suggest u take it..it will relax u..eat something light..and then u can go later and start with ur 2nd section..which is the same as the previous one except tht u wont have a tutorial again...when u r done with ur 2nd section, u will be presented with a few ques ..those are meant for survey..as to how ur expeience was etc etc..after tht 5 min time..u will end the test and ur monitor will show the logo of "prometric centre" again..U can now go out..hand over ur sheets etc back..sign back and ....u are freeeee!!..

and yes, u can go out between the test also ..u simply have to sign in their register each time u do tht..remeber ur test clock will be running at tht time...so try drinking water before the test..take ur restroom brk b4 the test...For some AC sensitive ppl try wearing nice full sleaved shirts/tops so tht ur comfortable...at centre u are even given sweat shirts..u might get a locker to keep ur stuff in too.

And again, DONT PANIC..it makes us forget all we know..if u get a difficult ques mark it.and move ahead..there's lots of time..u can complete all ques..and review urmarked ones too...the test is long and tiring one..so try practising at home by giving a full length test..then u are prepared for tht day..for some "hyper" ones like me..[haha]..take an analgesic b4 u leave..i had a bad headache the morning of my test..

i guess we get our results in 3-4 weeks time from ADA...till then forget about everything and chill..we all need tht after the test...no matter how well we did.
ALL THE BEST TO ALL!! 👍
hope i have made all things clear.

Hey akg,

I really need all those best wishes...we all do!

Again go thro' ur books..if u really dont have time..then its decks..but if possible be thorough with ur books..also, let me add again..tht some ppl who have taken their tests recently would recommend reading the decks..
One thing for sure is tht, we all will find DA most easy..know ur micro organisms. if u r thorough with ur morpho of all teeth..then i guess ur fine..
as for ques i got in my test.. i dont think we r allowed to discuss tht on the forum.

U will get a few repeats in the test..in anat be thorugh with arteries/nrvs/CNS.actually, i guess got something of everything...some of them will be very easy..and some never heard of..so it balances it out..maybe its just to separate the 90s from 95 and aboves....

dont know where i stand..am prepared for the worst and also hoping for the best!!..had put in a lot of hard work.
thnk you for ur wishes..i have been asking some very stupid questions in past as my test date got closer..i realise tht now..guess it was the stress...i remember asking if "medulla" is endocrine gland?.. so stupid of me!!! 😳

regards,
richa.

dear sdn friends
like i told earlier be thorough with ur decks coz even if qq were not direct if u know ur decks u will be fine.If u dont have kaplan book i would strongly advice u to get the first aid for usmle coz its good for a fast review and old qq papers never think they r old,coz i believe there were repetitions.all the best for those planning to take the exams and richa i believe the results will be in 12 days coz since we took the test on wed and count the no of days till friday and add days till monday morning when u will get them the next week it comes to 12days

hope i have made all things clear.
regards,
richa

good post richa !! ur demo took me to the exam centre & brought me back..whew...............waiting for my D-day....
all the best for ur results..

I think it's 8 but I am not sure....if anyone could help...

thanks
Ans should be 4 as one would know if tooth germ/tooth is there or not there. Also 4 in case there is delayed eruption.

Breast and prostate are the most common metastases to bone, thyroid is also.I'm not sure between tongue and pancreas, but I would say tongue is the least.

the answer for that question is pancreatic cancer.

i think tongue cancer do spread to bone

HI, sdn members~!
Thanks of all u.
Finally I finished my exam, that's a stressful time, Prometric made some mistake I just schedule for july 21, in Guam, then they send me the confirm mail but the week before the exam send me other mail telling me that I need to reshedule that I can't take on that day, I was crazy about it 😱 trying to change my flight, but I didn't so I have to take on the day I arrived there, I arrived on Guam at 4p.m and take it at 9 pm, in the Dental Anatomy I was so drowsy and hard to concentrate so I feel it was the most difficult part.
then I inquiry about my situation so they give a number to claim, but what.. I just took my exam.I thought I was so stupid, if I didn't read the email, I just would able to take on the day I scheduled first, but they told that it would be hard to take the exam because of the noise of that holiday. However, thanks for God it was no so hard than the last time, so I will waiting praying.
I recommend u to read very well Dental Anatomy specially the movements, and the USMLE for Micro, so many questions from there.
All the best for u :luck:

If you read Dental decks very well is enough, but if you want to complement you can read the USMLE, I read that one because one friend suggest me to read it, I think was a worthwhile since past such a long time after I graduated, that help me so much specially with the cases pictures, so it's your choice if you can remember just reading Decks it would be ok.
Good luck :luck:

It's the carotid sinus. All of the other sinuses are dural sinuses; the carotid sinus is the baroreceptor found in the common carotid.
