Dear SDN EM folks,

I am in a bit of a crisis. I am an EM resident at KDMC ER, and I love my program but I'm afraid the hospital is going to shut down. Even if it doesn't shut down, they are cutting so many services in the hospital that an already screwed-up system will totally fall apart.

So, if anyone knows of any open PGY-2 slots in EM, please let me know. I already know about the ones posted on the SAEM website, but someone has to know of others out there.

That's a real shame that things have come down to this.

One would have hoped that by now they'd have found a way to keep this final "safety net" for many of the lower income population of LA from coming totally undone.
