I just found out that I got C+ for my ochem 1 class...

My GPA went down from 3.455 to 3.423....

I have one more semester... to raise up my GPA... because I am applying next cycle probably during early June...

Should I retake Ochem1 during next summer and apply end of June after I get my retake grade for Ochem???

Or, what should I do???

I really gotta work my ass off next semester and aim at least 3.8+ GPA..

Thanks guys..

help~

I wouldnt retake, they will count both grades so ultimately your not getting rid of that C+

Also, at every school i have been to/know of does not let you retake anything higher than a C-....

just do well on ochem2 and DAT. what is your science gpa and overall gpa

My Overall GPA is 3.43 and science gpa is 3.41...

It was 3.46.... but that.. C+ dropped me a lot...

um... what should I do.. do I still got a shot???

I am taking easy Math classes next semester to try to raise up my GPA..
Would this look at bad??
if I can get 3.8 next semester, my GPA will go up to about 3.47..

also, what should i aim for dat if i end up with 3.47..?

i rly wanna go tufts

If you kill ochem2, it will look good. dont bother retaking ochem 1.

Dont settle for anything under 20 on the DATs

If you can do break 20 on the Organic section of the DAT, it will overshadow the C+. Especially if you do well in organic 2.

Go take some easy biology class and get an A, that'll be much more worthwhile. Go go Global Change Biology! haha

I see. thanks guys.

Well.. My school doesn't have that many easy Bio courses..

Since Math courses count for Science GPA... Is it okay to take easy math classes and raise up my GPA??
Since last semester is my only chance to raise up my GPA.. I rly gotta do well...
Math is also considered as science course right?

Yes, Math does count as a science, but not BCP. The big point to remember here is that you want to take something that will raise your GPA. AADSAS counts all classes into your GPA calculations, even repeats, so if you retook the Ochem class and say got a B, your GPA would go down further. So more or less to raise your GPA at this point, you need an A in something.

I wouldn't worry about it that much. One C doesnt kill your chances of getting in or reduce it. Committee knows that things can happen in students life. If you get too many C's in science classes then I would be worried.
