I'm sure this question has been asked before, but--

is it generally agreed that EK Orgo is sufficient for the MCAT? I will be taking the MCAT just coming out of a year-long orgo course in which I did well and feel that I have a pretty good basic grasp of the material.
I started to work through TBR's Orgo book and it just seems like overkill to me, knowing that the Orgo is only ~20% of the BS section.

Does anyone have any opinions on this?

While I agree that TBR Organic Chemistry content review might be overkill, you should definitely do some of the practice passages in their books. IMO, EK is sufficient but I feel that the Laboratory Techniques section in TBR book is pretty good and detailed. You should definitely consider that part though.

That 20% can be the difference between a 10 and a 15. As you near the top of the raw score, the scaled score per question correct decreases.

I personally felt that the EK Orgo book lacked the detail needed for the MCAT. Also, the way it was written was not conducive to remembering the topics discussed. I really thought the TBR Orgo books were amazing because the way they wrote it made me remember/understand the material better. The EK book was too much like a "cheatsheet". Also, the TBR book has some excellent tricks and tactics to help remember random stuff. And like stated above, those random orgo questions/passages that pop up in BS can make the difference from an 11 to a 14 easily.

If you have BR O-chem, use BR O-chem. Could you get away with EK, sure. However, you have the best o-chem book so you might as well use it. O-chem could easily make or break your BS score.

I 100% agree. Personally, I might not read all of the chapters (I'd only do the sugars, carbonyls, and lab techniques if I had to do over again, but then again I took the class) but I'd do all of the passages.
