I know of one that got accepted first round with 25 this year
AVG matriculation according to http://www.healthsciences.okstate.edu/student/admissions/matrprofile.cfm
Therefore AVG MCAT = 26.1 (8.7*3) aka ~26
- MCAT Average: 8.7
- Average Overall GPA: 3.64
- Average Science GPA: 3.58
- Oklahoma: 73 (83%)
- Non-Resident: 15 (17%)
- Male: 53%
- Female: 47%
- Ethnic Minorities: 31%
- Average Age: 25
25 shouldn't hurt and as previous people said, number 25's and up have been accepted already.
Got an interview for the 20th. Anyone else with me?
ACCEPTED!!
It feels so good to hold the letter in my hands. Can't wait to tell those other schools "thanks, but no thanks."![]()
"Congratulations, you're in the OSU class of 2014!" before Thanksgiving. There would be mucho thanks giving if that were the case!!
I don't think I could wait that long, but who knows. It will be close, I am thinking Nov 23. Did anybody get accepted on here with a MCAT as low as 25?
Hopefully I get accepted with a 22...I know I know it's low but I got an interview and doesn't that make me on even playing field with everyone else, now it's about personality and potential right!
I know, thats what I keep telling myself. They saw something else in our apps besides that stupid test. Now we just have to show them the charm 😀
Next day acceptance?!? Was that this year? I have a new time to pray for lol
Just me - if you don't mind me asking, what is your gpa and story? A 22 MCAT is pretty low I would think for early interviews - KUDOS to you for landing the spot! I don't put a lot of stock in the MCAT.
soooo i was at work today and i was thinking about getting accepted to med school.
i think today marked a checkpoint in my mind. today was really the first time i thought, "holy crapola, i'm really gonna do this thing....i'm not just bullsh*tting myself anymore!"
if you had asked me about 5 years ago if i ever thought i'd make it to this point, ida probably made some assinine comment and scowled at you coldly....and then felt like a failure.
so i'm excited and i kinda want to start medical school right now.
no real point to this post... just thought i'd share my thoughts with others who really know what this feels like.
Hey guys! I got the call today for an invite to interview!
Anyone else going to interview on November 11th?
Congrats on the interview BigDog. Call for the 11th yesterday? I wonder why theyve been filling the third round for a week now, and then they call in an invite for next Wed (second round). At any rate, good luck - Im scheduled for the 12th.
Is it true that OSUCOM only accepts LOR's through snail mail? So they won't accept my VirtualEval account? (I've emailed them about it but havent heard back--which is suprising, usually they get back quickly!)
How long do you all have to definitely accept OSU's offer. They must give you all time to at least find out your status with OU.
Secondly, some people are offered scholarships. When do you find out the status of those?
After you pay the deposit, due by December 15 (at least for first round) the deposit is refundable til April 15. I think you are crazy if you think they plan their school around anything OU. We were told on our interview day that we were not to expect scholorships first year, except service or the native American ones.
if you had asked me about 5 years ago if i ever thought i'd make it to this point, ida probably made some assinine comment and scowled at you coldly....and then felt like a failure.
Ok, I'm crazy, but I'd be surprised if school administrators were not aware that 90% or more of their student body also interviewed at a school whose clinic was a few hundred yards away.
You have your personal motivations and if OU is your first choice, then go for it. Either way you have till Dec 15th to accept and pay the deposit if you do receive an acceptance before that date. However, a schools goal is to fill their roster with worthy students and not worry about other schools. Therefore, if you want to wait for OU, that is on your own time and not the schools and so time doesn't matter to them, they are just following AACOM guidlines for acceptance dates.
What would they gain by adjusting their schedule to OU's? So what people apply to both, both have an April 15 deadline for refunds on a small deposit. What you are suggesting is that OSU should delay their deadline until OU has a chance to decide on the same candidate. That is ridiculus because if the student selects OU, then OSU loses. I say again, what would the benefit be for OSU
