Yeah, I interviewed on the 30th, I think it went pretty well. I already put my feedback in the interview section. To those of you who interviewed on the 30th, how'd you feel about it? any insight on when you think we'll hear a decision?

We got our feedback in about a week...they were rather speedy since it was right before Thanksgiving, but I'm sure I speak for everyone when I say that it was much appreciated! Keep looking at this site, others will post acceptances ASAP then you can get a feel for where you stand!

That's a good call. I read it before I went in to my interview and it really helped! It will give you material for you to come up with some awesome answers for OSU-COM's interview

Yeah, Marsh, I was disappointed too. Sometimes though I think we forget that he is just human, afterall, and everyone makes mistakes that they get to own up to at some point. I wish the media wasn't so feverish over anyone's slipups

Just another wait lister stats for you guys: I interviewed November 12th so awhile ago.
GPA: 3.9
Science GPA: 3.8 (Lots of upper divisions)
Here comes the kicker: MCAT: 23, no excuses just didn't perform.
I work in an orthopedic Clinic 30+ hours a week.

Any idea on how many, if any, spots are available. They suggested retaking the MCAT on Jan 28 but I wouldn't get my results back til March 1, which they may already have there list pretty set. Thoughts.. suggestions?

They have contuniual movement until the end of July so retake and push forward. History has most slots filled by April other than bridge and dual degrees, however come may and deadline for deposit refund you will see alot of movement as people with multiple acceptances make final decisions.

Magical - welcome to the waitlist! Your GPA is really good, they wouldn't have invited you for interview (early round) and waitlisted you unless interested.

I say retake the MCAT, and let them know you are doing so (updated status with them). With those stats, you should be scoring higher - test anxiety?

WOW your stats are exactly mine with the exception of my MCAT 22 and you interviewed the sameday. Good luck, I am sure you will be pulled off the list since you interviewed so early...just my opinion!

Just wondering if accepted how many of you are planning to look for others to share a place. I would be commuting since my wife and child would stay in OKC so I don't need a place of my own. I'm thinking about just finding a room to rent or go in with others in a rental. I figure if I can't find a good situation, the gym is open 24 hours (including a shower and lockers) so I can just sleep on the omm tables and stay at school. I think I could pull that off for two years! 😀

I know this is the OSU thread, but I have to share this story about an interview at OU.

Just figured I share this story:
An ER attending I know was telling me that he helped interview about five years ago at OU (he graduated from there a little over ten years ago). A he asked the interviewee what specialty interests them. She responded by saying Cardiology and something else (I can't remember exactly). He responded by asking her is there any specialty she can't see herself being interested in. She said pediatrics and emergency medicine (not knowing the interviewer's specialty). He asked if there was any particular reason about emergency medicine. She responded by saying "that's where the dumb physicians that can't match anywhere else go." He followed with asking her what basis she has for that. She said, "I have visited ERs and most of the physicians seem dumb." He then asked her, "what area of medicine do you think I practice?" She said I have no idea. He said, "I'll give you one guess." She said cautiously, "Are you kidding me?" He said, "I always felt highly of my self and my specialty, but I guess I was wrong."
He then told her, "You know this isn't going to go well don't you"

I asked him if he blackballed her and kept her out, His answer was "oh yes"
I died laughing when he told me the story. I probably wouldn't believe it if I heard it from someone other than from a person that was there. Can interviewees really be that stupid?

I have a family, so I won't be rooming with anyone, but I know a guy with a great house in a great part of town that is looking for roommates. He actually told me he wanted med students for room mates. When it gets closer to the time, I'll get you in touch if your're interested.

Wow...that is unbelievable. I really like EM, I have been around many awsome ER docs.

Any specialty has its challenges... Even EM. From the many times Ive shadowed Ive seen numerous patients present the same symptoms and chief complaints, however each time a different yet always accurate diagnosis was made... But this can be said for most any profession. But seriously, talking like that at an interview?

Wife is in nursing school and would be finishing her last year during our first year. I think it is only four days a week, I'll try and find a source.

Not sure, actually, however some students have been able to match plastics.... Schools dont typically post the scores though, only the pass percentage.

The percentage I've head is that OSU-COM has had 100% pass rate for the past few years up until last year when it was 99%. But, that could be mistaken information, so someone correct me if I'm wrong.

I would be staying with family during the week until we can sell our house in OKC and my wife can find a job there. It is possible that we may accomplish these two things prior to school starting and get moved over there, but I am not optimistic considering the job and housing markets. I would prefer not to spend every week away from the wife though, so I will do everything possible to make it happen.

Would anyone that has been accepted mind sharing their stats? Also, what type of medicine are you looking to go into?

28 MCAT, 3.64 cGPA, 3.78sGPA, lots of upper division sciences

First 66 hours was a 3.03 ten years ago. Took 115ish hours since 2006 with a 3.93 and all of my sciences except one was in the last three years. Moderate shadowing, one year only of volunteering. Work mostly full time, adjunct professor at community college

Traditional student from OSU. 3.5 cGPA. 3.5 sGPA. 26O MCAT. Around 150 hours of shadowing. Hundreds of hours of community service. And an insane amount of extracurriculars (which probably is why my MCAT and GPA is lower than what it should be). I had a great letter from a DO. I interviewed really well. I also took an early interest in the school and I made a good relationship with Lindsey and some other people on staff which I think really helps.

My case just goes to show that even if you have a little lower than average stats, you still have a chance if you play your cards right!

They will tell you to expect a notification in two weeks, when in reality most of the time it will arrive in a week (at least a phone call occurs at about a week, if you see people getting phone calls on sdn and you haven't received one, then expect a letter in the mail a couple of days later). It did for all three rounds this cycle

I think what he means is that if you ask the school they will tell you two weeks. In reality they typically respond within a week.

25P, sGPA 3.69, cGPA 3.75, last 105 hours were 4.0, Master of Public Health (MPH), 400+ community service hours, worked as a medical assistant and lab technician in college, not much shadowing, but I worked for a doctor 20-30 hrs a week for over a year, research experience during graduate school, and very good recommendation letters (D.O. alum, dean of my graduate school, and a committee letter).

I thought I did well in the interview.
