Plus, it being hot out means less clothing being worn. And THAT has its benefits 👍:meanie:

I had a feeling someone would point this fact out... LOL This is true, but speaking from a female perspective... being forced to wear the same shorts and tank tops over and over again gets really boring. It is SO hot here most of the year that you can rarely wear jeans or nice pants, boots, long sleeves, sweaters, collared shirts, jackets, etc. I like wearing those things sometimes, but if the temp is over 50 degrees I just get too hot for some reason. Plus if you live someplace like Miami or south Florida in general you kind of get immune to the half naked people walking around everywhere. It's just normal... like when you see boobs on National Geographic or something. LOL

If you ever need to cuddle when you're cold Sci, I'm here for ya😉

Hey, you know, we could do one of those '70s parties where they put the car keys in a big pot, and whoever's keys you pulled, you switched partners with them.. for the night. And in our case, it would just not be male-female, male-male AND female-female could work too!

Yeah buddy!

Just take a trip to Forever 21 then.

My wife has a different mini/shorts/sundress for every day of the summer months here, and they're all pretty much <$20.

Totally agree... I guess the grass is always greener on the other side 😛 I guess ideally I'd prefer somewhere with a little season change so there is some variety. Not always cold or always hot, but something in the middle.

Yeah well, after 5 years of the same poontang over and over, a little variety would be nice.

C'mon phat, don't you think?

Dang why do I always catch these comments I make after it's too late... I always think, Oh yeah someone's going to call me on that with jokes... never fails...

I'm at 3.1 years.... so I can somewhat identify. We can add a manly movie like Training Day or something too!

Better question is who is the big spoon and who is the little spoon...

3.1 years is definitely far enough out of the honeymoon phase to know the feeling. To be brutally honest, I can't see how people that've been married for 10, 15, 20 years or longer haven't had one extra-marital affair. Maybe they just don't really enjoy sex. Or the thrill of the chase...

This reminds me of an awesome discussion I had in a Genetics class. Somehow someone got on a tangent of whether Homo sapiens are "mate for life" creatures by definition or whether promiscuity is more our genetic modus operandi. Was a very interesting day...

And little spoon vs. big spoon? Vive la differance, my friend, who says we can't alternate spoonage!?

Edit: MYYYYY NIIIIIIIIIIII******AAAAAA.

One of the very few pop. culture references I know! =]

HA! Good call

I've often wondered about the whole monogomy aspect myself. Guess we'll see how the cookie crumbles, can't predict what life will be like that far down the road

I like their stuff... I will pretty much buy anything that catches my eye and is of ridiculous value. LOL I love shopping at those girl stores where you can buy 10 things for like, 100 dollars.

But yeah... um I'm at a little over 3 years in my relationship too... so it's basically like I am married!

Yeah, I think I'm gonna go with the Nikon d5000. Thanks for the advice. I will be sure to keep that in mind before heading off on any sight seeing. I'm still planning on where we are going exactly with a couple buddies of mine. We are thinking about Amsterdam, Munich, Madrid, Barcelona and Rome. The trip will most likely be in July or August, before pharmacy school starts of course. =)
we meeeessssed you in off topic!... NOT. 😀

I got a B in World Religions and it was hard because it was a 5 week summer class with tons of essays and these stupid in class assignments with maps ans whatnot. I got kicked out of class one time because I inquired as to why the class emphasized Christianity so much when it was a World Religions class. When he couldn't answer my question, I said I wasn't paying hundreds of dollars to learn about the dominant culture here in the United States because it stares me in the face everyday. He didn't like that. Granted, it was probably out of line but I was pissed because he said all these positive things about Christians and then talked negatively about Muslims i.e. jihadists and thedecapitation for non-believers.
wow.... i completely agree though. hey did you meet a guy from my college @ your uofa interview last week? someone in the prepharmacy club told me their friend got an interview at uofa

Most people are like you... I guess I'm just weird. It's really humid here all the time and I hate feeling sticky and gross. I like when it's about 30-40 degrees. That way it's kind of cold, but you're not going to die or get frostbite just walking to your car. When it's anywhere near 80 degrees I feel so tired and slow. 50 degrees is okay, but I like places where the seasons change and it might snow a few times... nothing serious like tons of snow all winter, but maybe just a little bit.
👍

No you're basically married when you're at each other's apartment every single day (literally)

Yea, we can't go NEAR the mall without heading into AE, Forever 21, and Gap (But we don't buy much @ Gap for obvious reasons).

I like Ralph Lauren Polo shirts and khakis... I am so used to wearing the same thing for 4 years that I have 3 Polo shirts (black, dark blue, green) that I rotate, and I rotate pants (black and brown) but that's the end of my stylistics. Tarryn is so much more stylish than I am, I feel so bad when we go out and the extent of my style is a polo and khakis. Or the other end of the spectrum, where I wear one of my 5 suits. So it's polo or suit. :/ but she doesn't care, so whatever!

And yeah, I'd say anything around 3+ years borders on marriage quality anyway. And while the sex can be good and spontaneous, the thrill of the chase is sorely missed. We both admit it, which is good, I think. Maybe not. LOL!

If you hang around with your guy friends for a few days on end I guarantee the graphic details get much worse than a few words like poontang thrown around here and there.

I would like to identify myself as a serial monogamist. hehe  One day I shall fall in love and live happily ever after. But probably not for years, the thrill of wild adventurous dating is too appealing.

It is an interesting thought. My wife and I both have discussed it... The glut of research data suggests that introducing a novel partner, even briefly, can really strain it... but at the same time, it could be fun. Tough call, tough call.

It's even worse for women, it always comes down to the organ questions, no matter how far you try to deterr from it.

I never do that around girls.

Around other guys, it's a guy thing, so it seems normal.

suuure..... i highly doubt you even talk about those kinds of things with guys, you're too reserved

Yea, but the day after you get that ring on your finger, the sex every day goes *POOF* lol
......what's sex?

I think you have more clothes than my boyfriend... he wears a wet suit everyday of his life. LOL Seriously though... he only wears khakis and either white or black shirts. He owns one pair of Armani jeans and two dress shirts that I forced him to buy so that he could experience South Beach when he first moved to Miami but he never wears them now.

I don't care either... I don't like pretty boys so that would annoy me if he took longer than a girl to get ready and took up closet space.

I think everyone misses the excitement of a new relationship whether they want to admit it or not, but I definitely think it's healthier to admit it! LOL

I'd only wear a AE, Hollister, Ralph Lauren shirt if the companies pay me extra for advertising their product. 😀

Unless they think its a diservice to their company that I wear their brand in public... 😳

Honesty counts...

Tarryn and I have both discussed it at length. Finding other people attractive is not bad, it's healthy and natural. I think a huge problem, predominantly among young couples our age (And younger) is a jealousy factor. "Are you checking that other girl/guy out??!?!" and it's a point of anxiety, fear, and anger or frustration... Which eventually strains the relationship.

It is my belief that, for a marriage to last, and last for intrinsic reasons (Not for finances or "for the children"), that almost complete honesty is required. Full disclosure of all big stuff, which includes feelings of finding other people attractive, flirting with other people, etc. I think it allows for a lot of freedom/mobility and flirting with other people (at school, work, etc) for both of us allows us to keep some of that excitement of single life without all the bologna.

Perhaps it's an odd or unique perspective but hey, I'm a really unique and quite odd individual. You kind of have to be to volunteer to play target practice for Al-Qaeda.

Yea, but the day after you get that ring on your finger, the sex every day goes *POOF* lol

I don't really want to get married... I think my relationships will work out if they're meant to be... if not then the separation is a heck of a lot cheaper. LOL

The thrill of adventurous dating went away the day the doc looked at me and said, "you've got VD."

Hehe, we are obviously talking about different things, I meant adventurous - as in going to dates with new people, non sexual, and then not worrying about seeing them again. Just going out to have fun - like to a book reading, grab a lunch, see some kind of show or seminar, cook food.

I meet and like very very few people to ever consider dating them maybe like 1 person per year or every 2 years, but I don't see anything wrong with going out with like 5-6 guys a month, doing some of the activities mentioned above and to not talking to them again. I don't think they may be happy, but that's life.

Could not agree more.

Ah, see, for me (And I speak for 99.99% of males of course), dating is another way of saying "paying for sex with someone other than a prostitute."

😉

Nawwwww, that isn't true. At least it wasn't for me... The only time we ever went more than one day (when we were together, so excluding deployments, FTXs, etc) was during her period. Still keep a good 5 days a week pace...

Is this really where this thread has gone? :whoa:

Nicole- I recall someone saying they were from your school, but I didn't talk to him. If you talk to him, just ask him if her remembers the girl with long curly hair who Dr. Tong teased about going to Arizona State. 🙂

As for the swingers discussion, I think most people would agree that the 3 and 7 year itches are very real. Adding in a 3rd party can certainly spice things up, though.

At almost four years in my relationship, I've only wanted to stray one time and I was extremely inebriated. Thankfully, I was brought back to my senses post-hangover. Drinking is bad mmmmkay.

I happen to like that emoticon thank you very much. And I'm no prude.. maybe if you're avatar was a picture of your wife I wouldn't mind quite as much. It's all about the mental images you know. :whoa:

Unless she insists on paying (sometimes)

I actually pay all the time, haven't been a time where I didn't pay once in the past several years. :meanie:

Valentine's day last year: I left my wallet at home, and bf refused to pay, so I left the restaurant and went to my bank to withdraw money in person while he was at a resto waiting for me. He was not a keeper.

What.THE.Hell.

If he refused to pay I'd walk out... he'd be washing dishes to pay for that dinner b/c I'd order one of everything off the menu just for that.....

Some guys are so vile.

You seem WAY too nice, you should let guys treat YOU, not the other way around. 🙁

I agree... I am the same way... I like meeting new people and hanging out together, but I rarely find someone who I like enough to devote more than that to. I think that's why when I am in a relationship they tend to last a long time. I make it clear from the start when I'm not interested in a certain way... and I don't expect them to pay for me or take me out unless I really do like them... so that solves the problem of anyone wasting their time or money... They might not still be happy but at least they still have that 50 bucks for the SC. Kidding!
