FYI, for others wondering if you're considered URM outside of the typical groups, contact medical schools and ask; AAMC has updated their definition about it being dependent on the general population, some schools also have adopted this and have included other groups in the URM category. For example, University of Michigan considers Arab Americans, individuals with disabilities and low SES (surprised they actually mentioned this) as URM.
