Why is it that overdrive pacing shortens the QT interval / Long QT Syndrome? (I'm getting that it decreases the dispersion of refractoriness and the development of early afterdepolarizations...)

Patient on amiodarone several hours before entering vtach into torsades (~ 8-12 hours before hand is discontinued using drug, so I assume still in the system since relatively long half-life?)

I'm having trouble understanding why exactly this is. If anyone can explain, or have some links to help with this, it would be greatly appreciated!
