1) Where the ulnar nerve is easily injured?

2) Fluorodeoxyuridine inhibits?

3)How does p/o ratio alter in mitochondria, when an uncoupler is added?(can someone explain the p/o ratio concept please ?

1) ulnar nerve - medial epicondyle.

2) Fluorodeoxyuridine inhibits - xanthine oxidase or sumthing like tht related to purine metabolism

3) decrease or become zero.

The distal inclination in roots of the permanent mandibular first molar is:
A. http://forums.studentdoctor.net/c:%5CReena%5CKap%5C1%5C15_files%5Citem_files%5Cspacer%281%29.gif more pronounced in either root, depending on the tooth
B.
c:%5CReena%5CKap%5C1%5C15_files%5Citem_files%5Cspacer%281%29.gif
usually more pronounced in the mesial root
C.
c:%5CReena%5CKap%5C1%5C15_files%5Citem_files%5Cspacer%281%29.gif
usually more pronounced in the distal root
D.
c:%5CReena%5CKap%5C1%5C15_files%5Citem_files%5Cspacer%281%29.gif
usually equal in both roots
c:%5CReena%5CKap%5C1%5C15_files%5Citem_files%5Cspacer%281%29.gif

The correct answer is B. In the mandibular first molar, one of the major distinctions between roots is the greater distal curvature of the mesial root. The distal root, by contrast, is usually more straight, without significant curvature. Another distinction is the deep root concavity seen running the length of the mesial surface of the mesial root. The distal root, by comparison, will have no similar concavity or a very slight depression. This concavity will sometimes express itself as a partial split (bifurcation) of some small section of the apical end of the mesial root into two roots. This feature is rare to unknown on the distal root.
this is given in kaplan question bank
but decks say that the answer is d
which one is correct?

i saw this q in kaplan q bank. their answer was A...round. i rmember it because i picked 'oval, w/ slightly wider labial surface'...that was wrong.

q ] the clearance of several substances was measured at constant GFR n constant Urine flow rate , but increasing plasma conc of the substance .under these conditions , clearance will increase at high plama concentrations for which of the foll substances ?
creatinine
mannitol
penicillin
phosphate
urea
[what on earth does this mean]... plzz explain m

answer is phosphate.
it means that if levels in body are too high (more than what is needed) , more levels will be seen in urine.

1.antivirals act against
nucleic acid
proteins

2. mouth when opened widely, condyles r postioned
in the anterior glenoid fossa
in the posterior glenoid fossa
either inferior to the articular tubercle or anterior to it

Members don't see this ad :)
well, i think its because creatine is produced at a constant rate ( that is why its used as a reliable source for measuring GFR), there is not much fluctuation in its levels. whereas phosphate increases/decreases in diseases such as hyperparathyroidism.
that is my thinking, anybody is welcome to add.

1- proteins (think DNA polymerase etc...they are enzymes= proteins)

2- anterior glenoid fossa

* i want to be the next shuntyman hehehehehehehehee*

correct me if m rong.

there goes my bubble....shuntyman just burst it =( *no more being shuntyman for me*

anyways, but if condyle goes anterior to anterior tubercle wont that cause 'lockjaw'?

see all this ques r framed in such a way that u will always choose the rong answer........ u need to find it in book........ neways pls let me know ur mail again.

Q10]An example of primary active transport is the movement of
a] Glucose into muscle
b] Potassium into a nerve cell
c] proteins across capillaries
d] sodium into an endothelial
e] oxygen across the alveolar wall

i saw this q in kaplan q bank. their answer was A...round. i rmember it because i picked 'oval, w/ slightly wider labial surface'...that was wrong.
even i thougth the ans was oval with wider labial surface but kaplan says round.m confused even wheelers say only maxillary central is round all others are oval.

:)

osmolarity increases as it goes down the descending limb and decreases as it goes upwards.DCT will have less osmolarity compared to descending and ascending LOH

anyways, but if condyle goes anterior to anterior tubercle wont that cause 'lockjaw'?

it would be called anterior dislocation in that case.
from what i remember when jaw is wide open condylar head glides to the level of ant tubercle and past it if patient has habitual dislocation so i would agree with shuntyman.

even i dn knw the ans
hey
. porcelain258 . acc to our discussion .. why not its "C" as . Cyclic AMP-- activates protein kinase A, which subsequently activate lipases found in adipose tissue.

e. No transverse ridge

for this i think it should be B .. isnt ??? i dn knw ans for all these ..a s u cn see in mand 1st there is no or little mesial marginal ridge .. n for both distal is horizontal.
