When I visited Colorado, students there told me it was entirely pass/fail. Has anyone else heard this? While it's not the most important point in choosing a vet school, I do think it's kind of a big deal and certainly has it's advantages (from my understanding, you do somehow officially get grades, so it doesn't interfere with applying for an internship/residency). Basically the student showing me around said it was great and made things a bit more relaxed- if it comes down to studying for a really hard test or visiting a friend you haven't seen in ages etc. (her quote not mine). Has anyone else heard of this or know of any other schools that run this way? Any thoughts on the whole policy? Thanks.

I don't know anything about it, but I don't really see the point in grades anyway. It all comes down to passing or failing unless you are applying for scholarships or want to brag. Although, here anything below 70% is failing. But overall GPA doesn't mean anything here. If you fail one class, you fail the whole semester and have to repeat it. I guess a lot of it come down to your personality type and if an A is any different from a C for you.

It's not exactly pass/fail, they rank you. So if the whole class scores above 90% you get pass but may still be rank 131/131. That is the only part that is tough because it is hard to evaluate you unless you get them to calculate a GPA for you when (or if) you decide to apply for internship or residency. I do not know if there are any other schools that use this system.
