OK guys, kinda a tough question for most people.

So I am a sociology major (and potentially a chem double major, just not sure if i want to finish it) at UCLA and I need to take an english writing class for my soc major. My undergrad advisor said that i can take it as pass no pass in terms of undergrad. However, I called USC which is my top choice for D-School, and the advisor told me they don't care, but it might affect my GPA by marking it as a C, he told me to check with the application system to see how they mark it.

Does anyone have any insight on this, because I've been searching for hours?

P.S. Thanks a lot for all the insight on this site I've been lurking for a while but finally decided to post. Any insight would be apreciated.

sorry I guess I should have made my self clearer. I have finished the full year of general education english requirements, this would be an additional upper division writing course, entirely outside of the requirements or recomendations.

Then it probably wouldn't matter that you took it as P/NP. 🙂

great so on the application website it will not count it against my GPA correct?

My last year, I took more classes P/NP than I took LG, and was accepted to all the schools I applied to, including USC. It will not matter at all, unless I am misunderstanding the question.
