Hi people

I'll be taking Part I in 2 weeks. I've been using the latest decks and old exams to study.

What is the minimum you can get on the new NBDE Part 1 and still pass? I'm not interested in specializing.

Is it true that if you don't pass, you have to take the whole test all over again? Also, if you have to retake, how much time do they give you to pass it? Is there a cut off time in months?

Thanks for any replies!

so your taking part 1 in two weeks and you don't know what you need to pass?? 🙄

jb!🙂

ps- i think you need a 75 (but i'm just a pre-dent)

I've heard people say 75 and others say 50. I'm just looking for a straight answer and the ADA and other reputable websites have not provided me with an answer.

P.S. - I wasn't looking for a smart ass comment. Thanks.

Definitly u need at least 75 to pass the exam, if u wanna retake it, they will give u 3 months( not before 3 months after the first one).Good Luck

if you're looking for a straight answer from ADA, then refer to their Candidate Guide. your answer can be found on pages 29-30.

good luck on boards!:luck:

That 75 is the curved score, not raw score. The last few years the raw scores needed to pass have ranged from 45-60ish depending on the section. However, I have not seen what raw scores people need in order to pass the computerized version, I would assume it is similar.

That probably explains why some ppl were saying 50. They were probably talking about the raw score, not the adjusted one. That clears things up. Thanks a lot!
