I would like to know why I am not eligible for Medicaid, since I earn approximately -$36,000 per year. I mean, really, if I'm not in the poverty level, I don't know who is.
And don't feed me that future earnings stuff, because I can become disabled just like anyone else.

As a single person, I think you have to make under $14K per year. I'm not sure about that, but I'm very confident that, unless you have 6 kids, $36K is WELL above the line.

Except that I earned negative $36K. As in, borrowed that much with no income.

I'm sure that the state officials would find some way to call it "income".

Here is a page from Health and Human Services delineating income levels you can make per year per household member that put you at the poverty level. For $36K/year, you'd need a household of 10.

As I said for unemployment, though, you could apply - the worst they could do is say "no". If all your money is loans, you might make an argument.

edit: I didn't see your (-) in your post.

I hate being poor.
Can't wait until residency, when I can start driving the Ferrari, drinking the Cristal, dating the models, living in the penthouse.

Next thing you're going to tell me is that all of my dreams aren't true either.

I mean, the worst that can happen is that they tell you that you're not eligible.

Thanks! Hopefully it hasn't been too long since my 'employment' was terminated. But man, not having to work in this brain-drain would be great.

Wow! What a freakin' concept, a helpful government!

one of the guys I went to med school somehow was able to get medicaid for him and his fam (wife +2 kids).

While I think the circumstances of this are shady as long as he didnt lie I dont have a problem.

in the long run Physicians will put more into the system than they get out..

I mean prior to med school i collected unemployment ( i had a normal job).

i made $10 per hour for doing nothing. Of course I put money into the system so i was taking out my share.

I finally got the carburetor out of the cruiser. Now I gotta find someone that can rebuild it. I'm tempted to try it myself, but it would take too long and I would probably end up failing to put humpty back together again, so to speak.

I'm praying that nothing is wrong with the electrical system. If there is, that is a completely different set of problems. Best case scenario- cruiser starts right up. Middle case scenario- cruiser turns on but won't turn over. Worst case scenario- Cruiser does nothing when key is turned.

I think worst case scenario is "cruiser burns to ground when mouse chewed wires short after connecting batter."
But then again I'm a pessimist sometimes.

It was minor. Felt the ground shaking a bit. Big Island go the worst. Some structural damage to buildings but nothing that can compare to California or Indo.

Glad to hear you're OK 👍

Things I love:

-my husband
-CSI (the first one - yeah yeah yeah I know the show doesn't reflect reality, but I'm pretty sure I don't care!)
-beer
-skiing

Well, at least three of the four are readily available here in Houston...

Sheesh! The stoopid Tigers have the bases loaded and no one out at the bottom of the 4rth inncing.

Okay, at least they got the force-out at the plate, but still! After dominating in game 2, they ought to do better than this!

Wow - three in a row - I haven't done that in a while.

So anyway, I got in trouble with my temp agency today. I didn't go in at all last week - what with the three interviews, late flights and all - and the temp agency actually called me up to ask what had happened. The people actually at the jobsite didn't care, but the agency did! ???

Good grief, the **** secretarial people have to put up with... I'll be really *really* glad when I get my actual professional life back. 12 hour ER shifts never looked so good. 😛

Oh, and by the way:
+pad+
